My mother Auntie Finey, was like Mrs. Ramotar.

She was a simple farming lady, who worked hard in the rice fields and carried large baskets of fruits on her head, from the farm on muddy dams. So we can get school supplies and uniform.

I learned a lot about life walking alone with her, to our farm and rice fields.

She could only read a bit and had to use her thumb-print at the bank and on legal documents, because her fingers was damaged in a cart accident.

She only wore plastic slippers and raised ten children, who have  productive lives.

I still love my mother dearly and wish she was still around to talk with me.

I believe Mrs. Ramotar's children feels the same about their mother.
