A talented and gifted African-American poetess has died.

Thanks to Chief for telling us on this forum.

Let's pay our respect if we may and suspend our disagreements. There are many occasions for that.

I salute the memory of Maya Angelou. I first saw her on TV in Guyana in 1992. She was reading a poem at President Bill Clinton's first inauguration.

That Maya Angelou moment drew my attention to her.
