Mahaica man murdered by relative during drinking spree

A normal drinking session turned deadly on Sunday, December 27 after an argument ensured between two relatives.

According to a police report, about 15:10 hrs 43 – year – old Sheldon Richards, and another man, who is his relative, were imbibing at his home at Supply, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, during which an argument ensued.

iNews understands that Richards reportedly struck the other man to his head with a piece of wood and the man retaliated and stabbed him to his chest.

Richards was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital, while the suspect was treated and sent away and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

The suspect has been identified as his 64 – year – old uncle.

Sometime its too blasted good to have a peaceful drink with family without getting into an old arguments when rum is plentiful. I hope the suspect drink enough rum for the next 25 years.
