Just a year ago the cost of obtaining a new Tax ID # was $100.  Today the cost is $5,000.00 .   This government is getting everyone on their nerves.  A lady went the office of the GRA to obtain a new TIN and was shocked at how much more hard working citizens have to pay for services like this.  The anger and frustration among the population is getting worse.  The promise of making life easier for the average citizen is a hoax.  APNU and AFC big wigs are living well while the rest of the population are watching how the progress accomplished over the last two decades are being eroded.

Django,

You should say something about the heavy fees APNU/AFC have imposed on our own people just to collect more revenues to keep their payroll going.

Nehru,

I was told that a hard working black girl who does dreads hair style for a living was told that she has to pay $25K per month for her street stand. She said can't afford to give this gov't. $25K of her money each month. Who is she working for?  The girl abandoned the street stand and began carrying a portable folding chair. When her customers call her she would arrange for them to come to a spot where they cannot be seen by the authorities. This is what life has become for many people in Guyana. The poor are being trampled upon by this incompetent government.

You are certainly not neutral but someone who is on mission to justify every wrong this government does.  I guess you think that it's okay to increase the fee from $100 to $5,000.

Don't believe everything you read when people like Billy and Bibi post it here. The cost of a new TIN is $1000 which is less than $US 5.00. I just spent almost 3 months in GT and was involved in some business transactions. This fee I'm very familiar with. The problem with many of the increase in fees is that they have not been revised for 20 years so when they are brought up to today's standards it looks like an enormous increase compared to the old fee. It is ridiculous that people were paying $100 (.50 cents US equivalent) for a TIN and the PPP never revised those fees for years.

Girl, this forum is not my life. You really think it bothers me if someone replies to a newspaper article that I posted for further discussion. You and Billy should start telling the truth more often and then people might decide to take you seriously.

Bhai,

When i set up my business website and advertise on Google Adword, had to create keywords for search engines,it took a few tries and was able to get the website on the first page of Google.Adword is a little different it's pay per click,so choosing keywords and setting up what geographic location ads to be shown are a little bit tricky,if not done correctly $$ are wasted.

I have a good handle of finding stuff on the Internet all i need is little information to do the search.

I am not stretching facts.  I am trying to understand how this works.  It seems if you are applying for the first time you pay $1,000 and if you renew you pay $5,000?

Either way, still a steep increase for a woman who makes a living braiding hair.

A new TIN is $1000. Billy told an untruth when he said that a new TIN is $5000. You don't renew the TIN. That is probably to apply for a reprint of the TIN if you lose it.

Your lie yesterday was much worse.  You said that no PPP were at the UG constitution reform meeting when Ralph Ramkarran said that only the PPP and civic society were there.  Where were your PNC friends?  Hiding in the bushes??

Are you out of your freaking mind? I didn't lie about anything. I posted a letter that someone wrote to the newspaper. I have no way of checking if everything he said is 100% truthful. Who knows? Ramkarran could be lying too since he has a reputation of being crooked.

The constitution expert of Guyana, Ralph Ramkarran, wrote in an open forum that none of your PNC people were there.  It's a thread on this BB.  And I can tell you that he does not have a reputation for being crooked.  He is the owner of Guyana's oldest law firm and was born into money.  His father was a Minister in the govt in the 1950s. No need for crookishness there.

How did the PNC become mine? Once someone exposes you liars, the first thing you spout is that they are PNC. I do not belong to any party in Guyana and once even supported the PPP here before Jagdeo exposed his corrupt ways.

Are you trying to forget this story when Ramkarran was involved in a scam? I'm sure there were a lot more like that over the years.
