The Kaieteur News newspaper which boasts objectivity, impartiality and adherence to the basic tenets of journalism carried a story in which it falsely proclaimed that the Auditor General's report found that the Ministry of Education overpaid $1.5B to contractors. The story was given front page coverage using bold headlines. When this inaccuracy was pointed out the newspapers which is run by PNC propagandist Adam Harris carried the retraction in a tiny obscure corner of the newspaper.

Perhaps, their objective is to generate sensations of issues in bold reviews and then publishing the facts of the issues is obscure areas.

In their haste to be sensational they never bothered verifying the story.

Albert your point is moot. It's not about the amount of money. It's about the corrupt practices of the PPP/Crooks. You lack common sense.

Have you been apprised of the recent discovery by The Auditor General of Millions of dollars intended for spending on education-related projects ending up in an unnamed bank account at Bank of Guyana? Ask yourself how on earth can the PPP insist on retaining the non-objection clause in the Public Procurement Commission? You are right,  the culture of stealing and covering up continues even with Ramotar as President and it will take more than committees and sub-committees to fix this mess.

DWL.......im aware of your reading and comprehension disability. The money in question is intended for a revolving teachers housing loan programme. A committee was set up but there is disagreement over which category of teachers should be given priority and other issues. Of course the AG in his report has to make mention of its existence. Ya'll live outside of this country and finding issues even where the opposition sees none ..........

they adjusted the number and apologize for stating the incorrect one. Why they got it wrong and reported it with out double sourcing is problematic. It however does not say malfeasance was not present. It merely adjusted the amount of the misappropriation.
