In American, and in the diaspora, most Indians have dhall bellies. If you look at Afro-Guyanese, they rarely have dhall bellies. The Chinese and Amerindians are humanly shaped. But most Indians are not. Our former president, Donald Ramotar had dhall belly before he went on a diet. Our current prime minister, Moses Nagamootoo has a dhall belly and need to go on a diet.

Indian, in general, are too sensitive to be advised on health issues. First, they're in denial of their habits and health issues. Never tell an Indian to lose weight or ease up on drinking. He will look at you as if you're stupid. I have a few friends of mine who have dementia from heavy drinking and weight issue but fail to realize it. The sad part is when you recognize the problem and can't tell them because of what their reaction might be.

Thankfully, I have given up on drinking almost three years now, and stop eating the things that are bad for my health. This is why I offer this advice to my fellow Guyanese.

Folks, it is not something to be proud of. Only you can help yourself if you need to feel good and look sexy.

Who vex, vex.

Dhaal has many health benefits. Dhaal belly is a wrong or inaccurate or designation for the bloated belly.

Health Benefits:

Mitwah, I know for a fact that yellow peas, beans, chickpeas, etc, has numerous health benefits. There is more than one factor that causes bloated belly. I understand that "dhall belly" is not the right term, but that's how I wish to present my headline.
