2020 presidential front-runner Joe Biden confused the South American country of Guyana for the African nation of Ghana while speaking at a campaign event.

Biden, 76, joined Adam Sexton of WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire, for a town hall in the network's latest installment of Conversation with the Candidate, which aired on Thursday.

"Growing up as a child in Guyana, my grandfather used to tell us stories that God made the United States. He told us about the wonders and freedoms in this country. I live my life striving to be an American citizen and I'm proud to have achieved that goal," Terrance Geenarain stated. "As president what will you do so that future grandfathers share the stories of our great nation?"

"I have been to Ghana, I've been all through Africa and one of the things everybody has to remember is that we are — we have led the world not just by the example of power, but the power of our example," Biden

"We have been that shining city on a hill for real," he continued. "Every generation that's come here, whether it was my great, great grandfather Owen Finnegan getting on a coffin ship in the Irish Sea in 1849, or you coming from Ghana, everybody who's come had to have courage. It took real courage to decide I'm going to change everything that I know, and leave everything that is comfortable to me, and what I'm going to, is I'm going to take a risk."

Since entering the race months ago, Biden has consistently made mistakes while campaigning. Recently, he misspoke when retelling the story of a war hero, the dates of the assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., while also claiming he was still vice president during the Majory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting despite him having been out of office.

Earlier this week, a member of the former vice president's inner circle criticized the media's coverage of his campaign, arguing, "I don't know of anybody who has taken as sustained and vitriolic a negative pounding as Biden."

This is not for lack of knowing but for lack of understanding the accent of the individual speaking to him. How many of you have not had someone misinterpret you reference to Guyana for Ghana? I dare say every other american will make the same mistake ...not because they are deficient in geography but in understanding guyanese accent.

a thousand times better than the orange orangutan.

Listen I don’t blame the man.  Anyone paying attention to Guyanese media would think it’s an African country.

It could be a mixed up with the names, but who’s to say them bhai in Washington is not talking about Guyana richness now and the name left on Biden lips.

Within the last month, all properties value went up in GT and surrounding areas, all the way up the East Bank and no one is selling.

We have a property for sale in Plaisance on the market for about two years. Last week someone from US offered $45G US more and they want to pay cash..

The Chinese have someone going around and is actually begging Guyanese to sell their property.. this woman walks around with a shoulder back and would show Home owners  a few US dollars.. saying  “ me pay cash now now “

The biggest problems facing Guyana now is massive corruption by this government and the previous government.

1. The Newly built airport is collapsing, the Coalition reduce the 8 bridge to 4 and non is working. Authorities are investigating the Chinese may pull a fast one by claiming “ it’s maintenance work”  but is buying time for 4 months left on some kind of warranty.  The “ extended “ runway was built on a swamp and is collapsing. ( APNU is blaming PPP, but they have retained the same Chinese Contractor and received half of its value for the same $150 million US) where did the excess money go and no new building was built, they used the same old structure.

2. The main highways were designed wrongly and is resulting in numerous accidents and is already collapsing in some sections which is done.

3. Yesterday, the overpass elevator malfunction and one of the operator including passengers was stuck for a few hours, until another operator had came to their rescue.

4. Blackout is daily nightmare and when the power come back, it damages  your equipment.

5. Internet connection is poor especially if you are 7 miles outside of GT, the bandwidth sucks.

Most of the people going into Guyana are NOT Guyanese

Some thirty odd years ago I sent a letter to Guyana, it never reached, few months there after the mail was returned with post marked return to sender and stamped Ghana. After  that I had to insert South America on the mailing envelope. Even the post office can make mistake. Most people only know of Guyana because of Jim Jones.

I think Biden is too old although he is still most experienced for the job. I would like to see Buttigieg as the next president because he is young, very educated and seems to be lacking all the fringes that usually destroy politicians. Unfortunately, I don't think enough Americans are ready to look past his spousal choice. If they can overcome that, he may prove to be a very transformational president.

Biden is too old to pivot for what people want to hear nowadays. While his comments are based on realities, people don't care about those realities anymore. They are more moved to have reality sugarcoated so as to minimize their own responsibilities in them. So while he is a rich bank of experience, he is not really relevant to the times. Buttigieg is but maybe there aren't enough Americans who can overlook his spousal choice.

One of the reasons Guyana is a shithole country is because people think it is in Africa. We have to go back to using British Guiana.

The greatest reason that Guyana is a shithole country is because of the PNC. Changing the name to British Guiana alone will not remove that scourge.

Guyanese cannot be blamed for the ignorant. Only a small percentage get it right, the reason I use Br Guiana when asked, I then explain us attaining Independence with a name change, quite simple.

British Guiana is much more popular world wide than Guyana. If it was not for Jim Jones then Guyana would be completely known as Ghana. For the racist anti koolie Afrosaxons the name Guyana symbolizes their defeat of the hated inferior sub human koolie and the naive dumb foolish C. Jargon squad. They made their country that they slaved and built a part of Africa again.
