Lloyd should be ashamed of himself. Anyone else would have allowed their own countryman the opportunity at a record. Just maybe he prefer Lara over his own countryman. Tiger would have easily surpassed that 86 runs differential. And he cut him in such a slimy manner. Shame on Lloyd. The WI still ended up getting annihilated in that series anyway so what exactly was his point if not to sabotage Tiger?

Nonsense ! Clive Lloyd is a decent man who dedicated his life to WI cricket. He served faithfully and under his leadership, the WI team earned respect and dignity throughout the world. Chanderpaul also served well but to suggest that he was held back by Lloyd is sheer nonsense ! In his later years, Chanderpaul became preoccupied with his personal record and in my view this was indicative of selfishness and a low sense of team spirit. Lloyd will go down in the records as one of the best things that ever happened to WI cricket !!

Chanderpaul put himself in that position. He should have tried and make those runs in the last two test series. Knowing Loyd history with East Indian players. (Read Rohan Kallicharan account of Alvin dropping from the West Indies cricket team). Did Chanderpaul really expect Lloyd will risk his job to give a koolie man a chance to break an Afro-caribbean record. Particularly when that koolie man did so bad in his last two test series. If Chanderpaul was thinking Lloyd would have come to his rescue then I got the St George's Cathedral to sell him.
