Dear All Good people:

My friend pointed me to this site.

I am interested in US politics but as a son of a Guyanese father, I would like to know the substance of the political page.

Is it worth it continuing.

For the record, my father is a strong supporter of Moses Nagamootoo who I met once in NYC.  So I am in a home where the name Moses is talked about alot and where I get a perspective on what Moses is doing.

So I will comment from that perspective.

Thank you for having me.

Regard.

Welcome, this Political Forum is  like the school yard and you will be surrounded by bullies. It is not an easy fight, you have to be thick skin and able to handle criticism. If you fail these guys will chew and spit you out and you will go crying to your father in no time. Pass the physical and you will earn your stripes in due time.

 Best of luck.

This is a good forum---I like the posters here---especially those who vehemently disagree with my US politics---90% of the posters are Obama supporters---this doesn't make them losers---they are just misguided.

RE: MOSES

Looks like he will die an angry and bitter man---what a shame---Moses is a judas---karma will deal with him--he'll get what's coming to him.

Anway, welcome aboard Devin--have fun.

This site is about hate, intolerance and bigotry.  If you are an indo and you do not support the PPP your are branded as ungrateful and will be called all kind of names as you have already seen from some of the response on Moses. If you are black be prepared for lynching and some of the worse racial taunts that has been directed at President Obama.

Oh Blistering Barnacles.

I think I got the wrong site.

But I will try.  I going to read my Guyana newspapers now to see if I can find some issues.

PPP Guys.

What is your biggest botheration in Guyana?  - The PNC, AFC?

AFC Guys / PNC Guys

What is your biggest botheration - corruption?  Power elusive?

What do you guys have in Common?

You are Guyanese.  How can we come to the middle ground and mold the nation?

Throwing out some thoughts.

What political reforms would you like to see?  A NEW CONSTITUTION?

What are the thoughts of the PPP boys on a new constitution?

Devindra all of us are from the motherland, we were born there and now living in NA. One thing we have in common is that from afar we all love our home country, we will talk and ridicule any of the political parties. But ask us to go back home and make a difference, we will tuck our tails in and meow like a cat crying in the night.

Also, American would not write "Dear all good people" or call the forum a "political page" The misuse of the comma as  in the second sentence ( after the peculiar salutation) . This  is not what a college bound student or  college grad would ever fall for since that is by default a five point deduction in English 101. Then there is  the redundant "it"  in the third sentence ( typical of Guyanese), use of "who" when "whom" is required ( 4th sentence), and  the  run on sentences ( 5th and 6th sentence).

While  this is not an English class and proper grammar or punctuation is not necessary and all of us habitually make mistakes  in sentence construction it is not  the same thing. Ours are typos or truncated thoughts or broken sentences ( clear errors of the preoccupied) since we are all writing on the fly while doing something more important

I am sure  this is not a friend of Moses or a habitual poster on the forum. This is a recent conscript, out of practice  with typing on the fly. Otherwise every sentence he wrote  would not have had a grammatical error.  If he was here to defend or speak of Moses then that would have been established in the first sentence without the need for a  biography. He is setting us up for something.

And I have not gotten to his second post. I think we got a sly one here.

Devindra,

Welcome to the GNI forum. I hope you experience something positive here. Most of the people who post here either aligned to a political party or are just sympathizers. There is the APNU faction whose is interest is to see a return to Burnham-style governance. The PPP faction wants to keep Guyana from falling back into the pits meaning to stave off PNC rule as long as necessary. The AFC faction are folks who would like to get into office but clearly lack enough support to do so. Their take on current issues  in Guyana you will find most interesting - it borders on insanity.

Good luck!  They games started a long time ago and it keeps getting hotter.

Beware of Backoos who are bike riders and display strong intellectual abilities. They are ravening wolves.

The PPP is interested in maintaining their parasitic proboscis in the nation's blood stream as they suck us dry! As for power, why do the resist decentralization and why are we without local elections 20 years in their rule? Further, why the IMCs? If you need to see burnham at work, look closely at them. They apparently went beyond his theories and put into practice what he would never dream of. These are adroit crooks who have no policy in place except it is populated by their cronies and have ample leech opportunities. Ramotar squatted on two boards becoming Jabba the Hut in looks and action while doing little to see the people get even a picking.

About biking, I was here yesterday and is going back today if the weather permits. The fall colors of the area is astounding at this time and I aim to be out in the woods until the snow comes.

Stormy,

I ride a Mongoose Otero Comp bike. It's ideal for that type of terrain. I am planning to bring my bike to Shenandoah National Park. I've got a Carbon Fiber Canon bike cost a few gran. I would love to challenge you on any kind of trail. If you want we can meet at the velodrome in Kissena Park, Queens.  Tell me what kind of mountain bike you ride.

I ride technical single track and down hill. I am too old for a velodrome and never cared for road bikes. If you do not ride habitually on technical single track and on good bikes you will have your ass in your hands even before you try to race me. Your mongoose is too heavy to ride with me plus it is ungainly.

I ride a 2012 Remedy 8 ,  a 2011 Fuel EX 9.8 and a 2007 Fisher Fat Possum. I also have a Gary fisher Cake DLX 2004 and a Santa Cruz Blur 2005.   I ride for fun  only these days. That does not mean we do not kick as on the trail since that is where the fun is.

If ever you are in the DC Or Philly area let me know. I am going to Slick Rock next week. I can keep up with the 20 year olds so I know I am doing fine.

Given the corruption, blatant racism and the extreme lengths that the ruling elite go to damage those who they think threaten them (any one who doesnt endorse their Indo KKK behavior) why should we go home?  Our help is not appreciated unless it is confined to uncritical support of a regime every bit as corrupt and as racist as the Burnham dictatorship was.

You never would have made such a comment in 1985.

How are old you Stormy?  80??

Some of Guyana's best sprinters in NY are in their fifties. Amazing to watch Randolph Toussaint, almost 60, take on the youths in sprints. Aubrey Gordon, Jaipaul Mohabir, Danny Chi, John Gopie (Jamaican) and others are in their mid-fifties and still flying on the track. I am more of a distance rider than a sprinter. You're right to say that the Mongoose Otero Comp is too heavy. The bike is well-balanced and it's braking system is really good.

I'm in my sixties and still do a 75 mile ride on weekends in the summer. If you would like to meet up I'll more than happy to do so.
