The Head of America’s development bank, Adam Boehler is leading an investment mission to Guyana beginning tomorrow.

Senior US officials have said that in the wake of the visit here last month of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that more visits by senior officials would be in the offing.

The US Embassy will host a virtual press briefing with US Ambassador to Guyana Sarah-Ann Lynch and Boehler,  International Development Finance Corporation Chief Executive Officer tomorrow.

Boehler is leading a US government delegation to Guyana to discuss investment opportunities and highlight the US Government’s Growth in the Americas initiative to support economic growth and security cooperation in the region.

During Pompeo’s visit, Guyana signed the Growth in the Americas initiative.

Boehler is the first Chief Executive Officer of the new U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). He was appointed by President Donald Trump and unanimously confirmed by the Senate on September 26, 2019.

The DFC, according to its website,  is America’s development bank.

“DFC partners with the private sector to finance solutions to the most critical challenges facing the developing world today.

“We invest across sectors including energy, healthcare, critical infrastructure, and technology. DFC also provides financing for small businesses and women entrepreneurs in order to create jobs in emerging markets. DFC investments adhere to high standards and respect the environment, human rights, and worker rights’, the website said.

The overseas Guyanese can benefit from this venture by the US development bank. The opportunities are endless. The Mahaica project can look towards US banks for help.

Waiting for the cynics to respond.

The Americans have the biggest share in our oil and gas industry.  Why would they not get more involved?  Guyana is now more important to the US than ever before.  Any political hiccups that's detrimental to U.S. business interests will receive a response from the great power.

The calabashing stooges of Congress Place who are here on GNI should take note of how Granger had to drop his gun and run from office.  Dis time na lang time. Them Yankee are run things now.

This is a very good looking guy. Hope he open up some American investments in Guyana.

Typical Guyanese East Indian woman.  Anything white or semi-white and they ready to run away from home.

That bank is coming to offer loans so that it can make money on the interest.

Why do you think they are in business.  It is to make money.  Not on the interest but the capital.  The people earn interest on their investments.

With all the good tidings, the PPP should be more benevolent and let bygones be bygones. Black ppl are Guyanese too, as citizens they are/were treated with great dislike by Indians. Help dem to feel welcome in the land their slave forefathers toiled for and now marginalized by the children of Indentured Servants.

Cut Volda some slack, also Lowenfield and Myers and those whom the PPP will be persecuting soon. Caricom better help their bruddahs. This time is no Phatom Gang. The powers will lock them up.

Licks goan pass, PPP gods will escape it but their supporters will tek it.

Shut yu backside..

You better watch out and keep that white man away from your house or else bags will be packed and hire car called then you will end up making your own roti for breakfast. Guyanese East Indian women know that they can buy two stale cassava bread from the grocery store for that white or black man for breakfast.  That white man and black man would be satisfied and happy.  While they have to make fresh roti every morning for that koolie man for breakfast.  That is too much work for them.

You lack experience, wisdom, and judgment.

I have been cooking for the last 30 years and I am good at it. You know nothing about white people. You should do some traveling.
