By 10PM the night of the election Jamaica announces their results. They have almost 4X as many votes to count. There are remote regions in Jamaica so that isn't the excuse. Even G/town isn't fully counted yet.

C'mon Surujbally elections after elections you have been doing the same pissed up work, it is time that you that people needs answers.........when are you going to present the report, when people start to riot. If you cannot do the job it is easy to resign.
We are didgusted with your poor pissed job............it is very shameful that you have 2099 polling and yet after seven hours you cannot present any report.

At least I would have expected to have electoral results from the Georgetown Areas, East Bank, West Bank, West Coast, East Coast.

As I reported yesterday in my now deleted post, the PPP had set up a system to do some ballot stuffing. They are currently trying to do just that and needed GECOM to delay the counting process.

They are short on manpower for a second shift to count the ballots. A PHD is a requirement for the counting.

Right now GECOM is just ****ing around.
When results would be available for us, he himself cannot say, he is just bullshitting with us and telling all sort of non sense.

[www.inewsguyana.com] â The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) says it has received over 1500 Statement of Polls and ballot boxes from some 2,299 polling stations across the country, but it is unable to provide any results given that they are still being processed.
GECOMâs Chairman Dr Steve Surujbally told a news conference that while more than half of the Statement of Polls was received, there are some delays.
âWe were stymied a bit yesterday after the close of poll, there was an environment that precluded the healthy transmission of ballot boxes and statements of poll,â explained Dr Surujbally.
He reminded that GECOM is the only legally authorized entity that can release the results and is urging patience from the Guyanese public for the election results some sixteen hours after polling would have closed on Monday, May 11.
âI want to remind you as I have before, only GECOM can make that legitimate announcement relative to who has wonâĶ.it seems not to be getting over to certain peopleâĶ.seems like they donât read it or they donât understand what we have said,â said Surujbally.
âWe will not work outside the ambit of the law and if it takes time to get the law, the nation has to have patience,â the Chairman added.
Meanwhile, the Chief Election Officer Keith Lowenfield explained that thus far GECOM has received all of the results from District Four (Region Four â Demerara Mahaica).
He also pointed out that other areas that results have been received from include Regions Six, Three and Five.
All of the statements for Region Five have been received and Region three is almost complete with the exception of the Essequibo islands.
The Commission is expected to update the public with some preliminary results at 18:00hrs this evening.

Interesting and valid question on how exactly he got and still in the job.
Understandably, while it may take time to receive the secured ballot boxes from the remote areas, there are numerous areas which should have already have preliminary results for presentation.

Some thing is wrong when a remote area like the Rupununi, with its poor logistics can see over 90% of the boxes counted, while G/town this seems not possible.
Not logistics. Something else and a complete analysis is needed before LGE. GECOM will have a huge job educating Guyanese about LGE as most voters have never been exposed to it.

It is a seriously problem, with GECOM non availability of Reports, one cannot blame the public for speculations. Last Year was the same problem.
