Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham (20 February 1923 – 6 August 1985) was a Guyanese political leader and leader of Guyana from 1964 until his death, as the first Prime Minister from 1964 to 1980 and as second President from 1980 to 1985. He is widely regarded as a strongman[1] who fought for nationalism and encouraged Guyanese to manufacture and export more local products.

Thank you for your service and leadership of Guyana, and may God grant your soul eternal peace in heaven. You are gone, but not forgotten.

This is a useless thread for some because Burnham is a blackman. I was educated under his leadership and history has taught me that he played a major role in Guyana's political history. Good or bad, he was Guyana's former leader, and I will pay respect to him as I see fit. People have balls to cuss a dead blackman, but they will never cuss a living blackman. This is why coolie will suffer more. They forget their history. They forget where they came from. They don't want people to know that a blackman shape their lives. They came abroad and sucking up America's wealth, but Burnham name will remember long after these scums kick the bucket. So much for coolie ignorance.

Lots of people begin their political or religious endeavors with good intentions but soon succumb to the power that comes with being able to influence others thoughts and actions. Jim Jones started out with good intentions also but soon became a huge scumbag. Burnham is not the only one although the snake foolishly thinks that others think he is.

Burnham did too much damage to Guyana and its people to deserve any happy birthday wishes. At least from me. There are some people around who try to soften his image and make the man out to be redeemable. He was a dictator, full stop and his regime placed a lot of hardships on Guyanese. Chased a lot of us to foreign lands which I don't regret anyway. There is however a few things that puzzle me about Burnham the dictator and his relationship with the PPP. I probably already know the answers but I still ask these questions. Why did they join forces with him and offer critical support just a few years after he rigged the 1973 and 1968 elections? Why were they pursuing a National Front government with him which would have created a one party dictatorship? If they hated Burnham so much for the dictator he was, why did they embrace Castro who was a much worse dictator than Burnham?

Prince get invited to birthday party for Forbes.now he want to show off because no a we get invited.

The discipline that most of us receive from Burnham era, the lawlessness of democracy would never have made us what we are today. We should be grateful that we live to understand both sides of the coin in politics. If we were born in a democratic Guyana from day one, things would have been totally different. By remembering Burnham, I remember the good and simple life I once had in Guyana.
