Guyoil shifts gear with International race of Champions

The Guyana Oil Company, Guyoil is the latest sponsor of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sport’s Club International Race of Champions.
The fuel giants yesterday handed over sponsorship through Marketing Manager Eric Whaul to GMR&SC’s Surica Singh at their Camp street office.
In handing over the sponsorship, Whaul contended that the company is a long time sponsor of the sport and this is their way of fulfilling their corporate social responsibility.
He contended that a lot of their products are also geared toward a large base of the racing family hence the company being on board.
The twenty-seven race program of the GMRSC International Race of Champions is billed for November 11 and 12 at the South Dakota Circuit Timehri with races happening on both days.
The event will see competition from Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, the United States and Canada.
In addition to the local races, the club has also included two sets of new events.
The much talked about Radical SR3 will make their debut in Guyana during that event as part of what the club deems β€˜giving back to the fans.’
There are also three professional drift cars that are expected for the event so that persons can be introduced to and excited by the different forms of entertainment on both days.
Saturday, will be treated as just as a race day, with adults being charged $1000 per entry and children $500. On Sunday, Adults will be charged $2000 and children $1000.
Qualification will also be held on Saturday morning from 10:00hrs with races beginning from 14:00hrs. Scrutineering will take place on Thursday and Friday and before qualification on Saturday.
Meanwhile the club is organising weekend passes for those patrons desirous of viewing both days of action as well as VIP passes.
