Marva Langevine recieves her Young Leaders Award from Queen Elizabeth II

The Queen’s Young Leaders Awards programme, now in its fourth and final year, celebrates the achievements of some of the most exciting young change-makers from across the Commonwealth. This year’s cohort from 38 Commonwealth countries are finding solutions to global issues such as climate change, food scarcity, gender-based violence, mental health, and access to education, a release from the programme said.

The awardees with Queen Elizabeth (seated sixth from left), the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (seated fifth and fourth from left respectively) and former British Prime Minister John Major (seated seventh from left)

Langevine received a Queen’s Young Leaders Award for the work she is doing to transform the lives of bereaved, sick and underprivileged children and families in Guyana.

As a Queen’s Young Leader, Langevine has gained access to bespoke mentoring and training through the University of Cambridge’s Institute of Continuing Education, designed to develop their leadership skills further and ensure they are best placed to lead the way in the future to tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues.

Another Afro-Guyanese make Guyana proud in Masa-Land. Congrats to the young lady. I hope some of you who think little of Afro-Guyanese will learn that they are brilliant and great acheivers without the shackles you hope they will wear forever.

Django posted this article more than 3 hours ago and not one Indo poster made any positive or congratulatory remarks. My guess is, it's because she is an Afro Guyanese. Shame on you Guys.

Prince, thanks for your kind and princely response.

You don't have to thank me, Mitwah. She is a Guyanese and a human being. Encouragement and congratulations much be in order to all people who deserves it. What you spoke about is true. I have seen time and time again that our Indos are reluctant to recognize Afro-Guyanese in these special moments and relegate them as classless who can't run cake shops. I have a few of them in mind. They wouldn't hesitate to cuss down Indos as well and bag them with the classless for not being on the same page with them.

You don't look to see who delivers good gestures to the young lady. You do good things without knowing and seeing what others do.

.

Almost no blacks post regularly on GNI because you and the rest of the Indo KKK have chased us away.  We tire of the stench that the Indo KKK brings to GNI.
