If you got a Guyanese daughter you can at least encourage her by pointing to a couple of internationally famous Guyanese female singers. It's not that Guyana is short of talent. The problem is that many of those talented people get involved with the wrong way of earning a living.

You don't get rich from that. When I tell people my grandad could drink two bottles of rum a day year in year out they said I was making it up. So it is not a talent that is accepted as possible outside of Guyana even though we all know that two bottle a day is the norm.
