I go to Guyana every year too. What are you saying is not true? Are you denying that poor people were lining up to collect food from "Food for the Poor" and other NGO's during the PPP years? The photo that I posted displayed just that and I can produce many more.
I never saw anyone lining up for food.
But I need clarification from you: Are you saying that people were lining up because of food shortages in the country or because of poverty? If it is the latter then you may have a point even though I never saw an lines for food.
Did you ever see my computer that I'm typing on? It exists though. The fact that you never saw anyone lining up for food during the PPP years does not mean that they never did.
I didn't interview any of the people lining up for food so I'm not sure if it was because of shortages or poverty. All I know is that they were lining up for food and that is what I stated. The photograph that I posted shows food being distributed by the "Food for the Poor" organization described in this story. You can see the man in the yellow T shirt wearing a Food for the Poor shirt. There are also more pictures here. They are a very active NGO in Guyana.
Can you post what year you are speaking about people lining up for food in Guyana. People line up for free food in your adopted country (US) too. From about 1993 the country had an abundance of food for all the people.
