Desrey Fox is a linguist and a renown scholar. She is example of untapped intellectual depth in our Amerind community. I admired her for who she was is beyond the Amerind lured to the PPP soup spigot as a minister. She has an identify above and beyond that.

I saw nothing wrong with the original name. To me, it is more Amerindian sounding than Fox. If it wasn't explained, I would have thought the lady was of mixed heritage. I did not like when the airport was change from Timehri. The Amerindians are a significant people in Guyana, let their words prevail where and when it can. Guyanese other than Amerinds pretty well have dominated the country.
