Granger files $2 Billion lawsuit against Kit Nascimento and three daily newspapers

Former President David Granger has filed a more than $2 Billion lawsuit against Public Communications Specialist Kit Nascimento, Stabroek News, Kaieteur News and the Guyana Times newspapers.

The lawsuit is in response to statements that were contained in various letters written by Nascimento and published in the three newspapers last year just after the elections.

Through his Attorney, Senior Counsel Roysdale Forde, the former President is contending that the published letters which were written by Kit Nascimento contained statements that were libelous against him and which sought to impugn his character.

The letters were written and published over a period of time and attacked Mr. Granger’s handling of the issues surrounding the 2020 elections and the aftermath. Granger was President at the time.

Among the reliefs being sought are a retraction and apology, a number of injunctions against the republishing of the letters or repeating the statements made in them and the permanent removal of the offending letters from the online edition of the newspapers.

In the lawsuit, Mr. Granger contends that the publication of the letters  was intended to and calculated  to  affect him  as a  Politician and a leader in the community and country with  a  view  of  lowering  him   in  the estimation of right thinking persons in the news.

He also points out in the claim that throughout the electoral process, he made it clear that he will abide by the declaration handed down on the elections by the Chairman of the Elections Commission and he did just that when the final declaration was made.

The fact is that Granger said all along that he would accept the decision of the Elections Commission and when Claudette Singh made the final declaration he accepted it.  Go to the archives in this forum and you'll find the evidence. It would be an interesting case.  Where would Kit Nastimento find all that money?

Well, he certainly made it bad for third parties going forward. All the successes from 2011 were erased. They could have accepted the result and regroup immediately, they could have won in 2025. But no, that's too hard and long sighted.

Lots of tasting and lunch is great also, but you have book it in advance. Perhaps the dining will be closed due to Covid.  Not far from Niagara on The Lake.

The VP should sue your backside for posting derogatory remarks on GNI.

They have a bookmark on GNI. They read everything that is p[osted here.

He wouldn't want to do that, I assure you, kunt! Their source of ideas and guidance would dry up, for one thing! You are of little value to them! More like a used and re-used condom!
