So Django, who has all the SOPs?

GECOM , have all the hard copies. Below what GECOM Chair said.

Justice Singh, who is also a respondent in the cases, in an affidavit dated March 20th, had given an undertaking following a ruling delivered by Chief Justice Roxane George-Wiltshire that should there be discrepancies in the SOPs called by Mingo with those held by political parties, then such discrepancies would be noted at the end of the process if they could not be addressed then, and she would endeavour to facilitate a recount at the level of the Commission.

Cain, being a neutral observer( neither Afro or Indo). From what we are viewing on GNI what do you think is going on with GECOM.

The Indians claiming they won. And finishing the count assures them of that prediction.

The Afroes, neither seys they won or agree to a victory as the PPP claims.

The Courts are into the matter, but yet GECOM stalls all of their engagements.

It looks like GECOM chair has alot of doubts. In the end, she has to declare the results after Lowenfield has done his part. The lady is very troubled. No matter what decision she arrives at, Guyana would be more divided.

Have you ever heard of silent tongue and first jump aren't winners. The PPP/C doesn't have all the SOPS for Region 4 ,hence the reason for Jagdeo petition to the Court for GECOM to release their copies ,he lost the petition.

DJ, are you saying that the PPP did not have observers at all the polling stations in region#4, because let me remind you the SOPs are tabulated at each station, all parties would have the same numbers on a carbon copy and a copy would be pasted outside at each station at the end of voting.

The master copy is submitted to Gecom. What remains of Gecom is to ADD all the SOPs of region #4 to get the total vote count on #4.

So at least the PPP and maybe other opposition parties would have all the SOPs.

Django all over the place, first he and he alone ‘crack the case’ on how PPP rig and would expose his theory, then it was Mercury hack the process even though no computer was used. Now he wants to sell another conspiracy that the ppp agents somehow forget to collect their copies of SOP’s from R4 polling places....what next?

The People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) is inviting everyone to view the tabulated Statements of Poll (SoPs) for Region Four (Demerara Mahaica).

The verification of these SOPs has been stalled at least five times so far since Elections Day on March 2, 2020.

In releasing the SOPs, the PPP/C said these are public documents that should be made available for public scrutiny by everyone.

The SOPs can be viewed at: https://region4sopsinformation.com/

The CARBON COPIES were given to the political party observers at the close of voting.

GECOM requires every Presiding Officer  to produce several original SOPs – for display on the outside of the polling station and for dispatch, in separate, sealed envelopes, to the Deputy Returning Officer, Returning Officer, Chief Elections Officer and Chair and Commissioners of the Guyana Elections Commission.

Counting agents for political parties present at the count and production of SOPs are permitted to affix their signatures to indicate that they have witnessed, and certify, the count; they also receive a carbon (not original) copy of the SOP. Political parties and observers should only have digital and carbon copies of SOPs and they cannot, lawfully, remove the original SOP placed at the polling station.

International Observers also took pictures at some polling places... it is for this reasons and more APNU do not want to upload their SOPs, which can be cross reference.

That in a real world ,unfortunately the PPP/C don't have COPIES of all the SOPS for Region 4.

I mentioned over and over APNU + AFC don't have to challenge the PPP/C tally. GECOM declares the winner of the elections. Further according to the LAWS ,vote tallies should be secret ,until the results are declared.

Shadick, Gunraj and Benn slam postponement of GECOM recount meeting

From left are Bibi Shadick, Robeson Benn and Sase Gunraj.
From left are Bibi Shadick, Robeson Benn and Sase Gunraj.

The three opposition-appointed members of GECOM have condemned the delay of a meeting today of the commission on the recount of votes following a request by the three government-appointed members to “study” the decision yesterday of the Full Court.

A statement issued by the three commissioners follows:

The ruling of the Full Court of Appeal on 31st March, 2020, discharged all injunctions restraining the Guyana Elections Commission from executing its full mandate.

As a result, any impediment to the conduct of the recount of all ballots cast in the General and Regional Elections 2020, commencing with District 4, as unanimously decided by the Commission  on the 15th March, 2020, has been removed.

We therefore expected Justice Claudette Singh, Chairman of GECOM, to summon a meeting almost immediately to decide on the soonest possible time for commencement of the count and if necessary, to fine-tune some of the details.

Instead, an inquiry came from the Chairman’s office regarding our availability for a meeting at 1000 hours on 1st April, 2020. Lo and behold, at 0843 hours of the said 1st April, an email was received in the following terms:

“The Government Commissioners requests that they be given an opportunity to read the decision of the full court, since the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the way forward.  They requested that the meeting be held tomorrow morning instead (the time will be communicated).”

This is unacceptable.

The judgment of the Full Court was broadcast live on national media. The world had access to it. The judgment was pellucid and requires little explanation, if any.

The nation and world anxiously awaits a resolution of this matter that is now one month old.

We recall the numerous occasions on which such stalling measures were employed with the inevitable result being to facilitate some dilatory tactic or the other.

A meeting should be called immediately. There are legal and constitutional remedies for non- attendance.

We hope that the local and foreign observers as well as the international community take note of this further attempt to delay the conclusion of the electoral process.

How much longer are we going to allow GECOM to operate to the detriment of the national interest?

Robeson Benn

Wrong. It was not the ppp claim it was the world of observers call the Mingo’s charade an electoral fraud. Grainger would have swore in a long time ago if it was just the ppp/c ‘claim false’....

An established procedure where individuals/groups are directly involved in a court matter, they await the original written declaration(s) for review and then take the needed actions.

One needs to wait when this item is done.

However, the fundamental issue is that the tabulation of votes for the regions, especially that for Region 4, must follow the proper steps and procedures according to the constitution, especially that which was outlined/emphasized by the Courts for this decision.

Django ... while there can be discussions on the SOPs each political group has, the fundamental issue is ...

1. GECOM's official results must represent the SOPs.

2. Discrepancies of the results and SOPs must be adequately addressed.
