Budget 2015: Hundreds of millions for NCN, GINA

NCN[www.inewsguyana.com] – The 2015 Current and Capital Expenditures presented to the National Assembly by Finance Minister Winston Jordan on Monday, August 10 allocates hundreds of millions in subsidies for the National Communications Network (NCN) and Government Information Agency (GINA).

Under the Office of the President, GINA is listed for an $80.4M subvention while under the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), the agency is slated for a $63.9M subvention, the total of which would be $144.3M.

Meanwhile, NCN which also falls under the remit of the Prime Minister in the new dispensation was also given a subsidy of $69.5M under the Office of the President and $27.2M under OPM. This reflects a total of $96.7M heading in the direction of NCN.
