An overlooked factor in Region 6 being in play for the AFC is the recent PPP defections (as D2 alludes to), especially Moses Nagamootoo (and Kidmost and CaribJ are likely to recalibrate Moses' importance); and also the fact that Ramjattan is the Presidential nominee this time around.

The Presidential pension might just have made up some minds in the last moments.

The APNU seems to have become energized unlike how it was under Robert Corbin.

The elections are the PPP's to lose, so you have to look for factors that can erode this advantage, rather than look at what it offers the electorate. And it is precisely this that makes you think that their lead from 2006 may have slipped somewhat. Landslides are just not likely to happen as some here may write. The question is whether the PPP's slippage will be enough to sink them under 50%; and that's where the money is right now.

The opposition parties keep crying "RK, RK" all the time. This only appeal to the families of downed Buxton killers. The population in general does not care about the lives of criminals who snuffed out the lives of innocent people. The people of Guyana wants progress to continue.

Why would the gov't want to employ people who are seeking its destruction from a computer abroad?? The PPP have dealt with more formidable opponents that TK, D2, or Moses. Some like to treat the PPP as an organization run by morons. However, a careful look at this party reveals that they have many smart operatin behind the scene. They have been able to counter the propaganda works of the opposition by growing the economy, improving the living standard of the people, and on some occasion use the pen to expose their lies.

PPP has a better election strategy than the others. While the opposition focuses on complaining and attacking Jagdeo, the PPP was crafting strategy.
