Only when the disease is in the chronic stage and most other types of modern medicines are tried will people turn to Ayurveda for psoriasis, but little do thy realize that this is the only branch of medicine that promises complete relief. But however complete cure is conditional and depends on various associated factors which only an Ayurvedic medical practitioner on compete evaluation of the stage of the disease and the patient’s body physiology can evaluate and decide. There are certain conditions that must be considered while deciding the mode of treatment in Ayurveda and the efficacy and reactivity of the medicines depends upon the type of psoriasis and the patient reactivity to medicines. Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease associated with skin dryness and reddish patchy appearance with areas of scaly appearance, there are various forms of the disease and it is generally non-infectious in nature and due to its recurring nature. Several factors contribute to the development of this disease like the immune system, emotional stress, hereditary and sometimes even the harmful UV rays of the sun. Since the blood needs to be purified and the body also has to be cleansed internally of all toxins the initial stages of therapy begins by giving medications that cleans the body internally. During the process of treatment the patient has to consume foods as advised by the dietician - foods that are easy to digest. Getting adequate rest is also essential for a speedy recovery and certain home remedies may also be practiced at home.
