Dear Editor,
Please permit me to respond accordingly to Ms. Venessa Kissoon’s article which appeared in your column on March 27, 2015- titled: “The Coalition’s visit to the world’s leading democracy was not without disruptive heckling,” alluded to the picketing exercise In Queens, New York.

Serial provocateur and self –professed voice for vulnerable women Ms. Venessa Kissoon manifested all the signs of a political charlatan who is overly economical with the truth, on one hand and saddled with naivety of what it means to live in a democracy.

Ms. Kissoon in her media revelation debut executed a flawless political somersault, landed in the opposite direction; shot herself in the foot before placing her foot in her mouth and voluntarily performed a noble act impeaching her character.

Suffering from a serious bout of foot and mouth disease, Ms. Kissoon has managed to self- expunged what little is left of her common decency by attempting to bring credibility to her race-baiting and maniacal campaign, referenced the peaceful protest action to legitimize her one woman terror campaign as a form a freedom of expression.

Conveniently, Ms. Kissoon paralleled her “Hecklers Are Us” terror brigade as no different as that of NY’s protest. The fact is that the NY’s protesters was an organized democratic exercise conducted in a dignify manner while upholding and mindful of the rights of others, a far cry from her serial disrupter role.

Subsequently, Ms. Kissoon condicted that legitimacy by referring to said protesters as “Hooligans and Ghetto people.” Such comment reflects her intolerance for opposing views and democratic traditions.

It is only appropriate within the context of Ms. Kissoon’s disparaging comment to ask if the same comparison would adorn her People’s National Congress (PNC) Party Colleagues in NY- career Hooligans and Ghetto ordained- who staged four protests on the account of President Ramotar’s visits NY, the most recent in Brooklyn. After all, they conducted mirrored exercises.

Obviously, the former PNC’s MP has made a career out of misrepresenting facts and conveniently cries a victim’s cry to benefit her failed cause, as she devoutly forces her opponents to view the world through her myopic prescribed lenses, and extract a price from them for independent judgement.

In actuality, the Queens’ peaceful protesters had one objective in mind: to raise critical questions of the characters of the Coalition’s Candidates David Granger and Moses Nagaamootoo and their alleged knowledge of atrocities perpetrated on the Guyanese people, which they refused to come to grip with.

In fact, the Coalition’s candidates received a mouthful of blistering criticism from protesters expressing disgust as their leadership and nonchalant reaction to Guyanese concerns. But the protesters demonstrated their outrage with tremendous civility contrary to Lady Liberty Ms. Kissoon’s distortion.

Call to mind, it was Mr. David Granger himself who commented that on his previous visit to Queens, New York, he was afforded tremendous courtesy and respect from protestors, unlike his trip to the Linden where he had to be escorted by the police, compliments of Ms. Kissoon’s rabble-rouser brigade.

Contrary to what Ms. Kissoon wants her audience to believe about the protesters, with her insinuated distraction, the fact is protesters did not interfere with attendees’ rights, the planned affair or the guests of honor arrival and entry. Actually, it was Mr. Granger’s prerogative and conscious decision to cowardly refused to face his fellow compatriots. After all, the retired army chief had excessive amount of paid security persons, and NYC Police. His safety was not compromised.

Ms. Kissoon’s crass behavior, coupled with recent condemnation, speaks volume. Her claim to be a desired voice for Guyanese women is troubling to say the least. It is a sad state of affair if Guyanese women would appreciate the likes of hers to articulate on their behalf, and be the voice to uplift their political, social and economic status.

Clearly, Ms. Kissoon’s false black flag cry should be titled manifestation of a “Flip Flopper Syndrome.” Her sermon was a cocktail of political innuendos laced with contradictions, spurns by self- interest and reflects her difficulty coping with the freedom of democracy.

Lest the MP forgets, democratic virtues runs counter to her practiced values and democratic society certainly does not ascribe caretakers to abrogate the righst of others and she aspires to be.
