Only few Guyanese have been able to hold on to wealth for more than a generation. People like Beharry, Fernandes, and D’Aguiar. The rest of them was easy come, easy go. People like Burnham and Kayman Sankar both of whom were once the richest men in Guyana.

That is not true. Both Burnham and Jagan died flat broke. Just like how they left Guyana. Flat broke. The state's cars, houses and horses does not mean that it is your own. Hoyte gave Burnham wife 2 months to move. Raul gave Fidel wife 5 months to move but she curse him so nasty than he let her remain in the state's property.

Hoyte defended Burnham's wife the right to stay on the property.  The Government did not own Burnham's Property.   Burnham bought the Property from the Government which was worth $250,000 for only $7000.

That is the land at the back of the Botanical Gardens. It had an old house that the man who used to take care of the cows for Burnham lived. Hoyte gave Burnham wife 2 months to move out of the Residence next  to the zoo. She move her stuff in the two months to Belfield house that Burnham was renting as his country residence. Burnham wife never stayed in the house on the farm. Prashad saw the house from the outside. It was an old broken down house. The farm at the back of the Botanical gardens that Burnham was leasing also had the heard of water buffalo that Indira Gandhi gave Burnham.

I am talking about the Belfield house.

Do you remember when Sayed Sankar killed the father of Ranji Chandisingh at Belfield in His DeSooto car in what was deemed an accident. They were both involved with a woman named Shira Hoosein who was In the car at the time of the accident.

Yes!  I went to Hindu College with His daughters, Isha,Shaharazad and Fawzia.

Shira Hoosein's daughter and I used to travel in same car to Georgetown from Annadale.

You remembered the song.

I think Burnham was renting that house.  A guy who used to work there told me that. I also heard from him that after Burnham died people started stealing left, right and centre from his wife there. Hold grown pig use to disappear overnight from the yard pig pens and nobody sees anything. The power of the kabaka to scare people disappeared after he died.

Burnham owned that house.  I heard it was sold to King Solomon.

What you said is wrong.  Belfield House was Burnham's private residence.  After his death it was sold to a businessman called King Solomon.

What I heard from the man who worked there taking care of the pig pens was that Burnham was renting the property.  The owners of the property were overseas.  I don't know who this King Soloman was.  I only know Ricardo and Joe Soloman.

You are talking about my neck of the woods my friend.  I was witness to the use of state resources to improve Burnham's private residence.

I was trying to remember the song. Apparently, the words of the song told the story of the triangle love affair that led to the death of Dr. Chandisingh.

I don't know if this is correct. But I think  Joseph Chamberlain Chandisingh was Dr. Chindisingh's first cousin.

I just checked Ranji Chandisingh's obituary on Stabroek news webpage. Joseph Chamberlain Chandisingh was the brother of  Dr.  Charles Washington Chandisingh. Dr.  Charles Washington Chandisingh was Ranji Chandisingh's father.

I never knew that Ranji Chandisingh was born in Trinidad to a Trinidadian mother and that he grew up in Buxton and went to Harvard University at the age of 16. When Prashad was 16 he was playing softball cricket on the train line with Baseman's cousin Ginger. No time for school.

The National Service boys were looking after the residence. I had a relative who used to cut the grass and he was so happy doing it. He can't stop bragging that he came face to face with Viola Burnham.

Ramakant did he mention anything about the big time stealing from Viola and the Belfield house/yard that went on after Burnall kick the bucket?

The National Service boys and girls used to plant lots of vegetables behind the Belfield house. The land extended all the way to where the train line used to be.
