This is indeed the occasion when sirni is made. As the person giving the sermon at the masjid today said, "it is admirable to see Muslims crying to see the month of Ramadan ends". The month where Muslims freely deprive themselves of things that are usually lawful to them and the month where they end up weak from fasting and tired from waking up early and going to sleep late after long nights of prayers. Three nights ago, more than 7 million Muslims turned up around the Kaaba to observe the traditional Lilatul Qadr (Night of Power). That is impressive given that some time way in the past, the first man on earth placed a branch at that spot and declared it a place of worship to God.
Eid Mubarak!
