Embattled United States-carrier Dynamic Airways has pulled out of the Georgetown/ New York route and will delay operations to the United States until next month. Local partner for the foreign airline, Gerry Gouveia of Roraima Airways told Kaieteur News yesterday that due to several issues plaguing the operation of the North American end, Dynamic has delayed its services and hopes to recommence operations by August 8.

As such, Gouveia told this publication that the company expects the last flight out of Guyana will be on July 15 when the airline will complete all flights that were initially booked.

On Dynamic Airways’ official Facebook page, a note to passengers and travel agents read that, “due to operational difficulties with securing time slots at John F. Kennedy (JFK) airport for the month of July, we are announcing temporary suspension of JFK – GEO service until August 8th 2014.”
The message said that Dynamic Airways will operate flights on July 8, 11and 15, and transport passengers who have already started their travel.

“We are currently protecting all passengers which started their travel and are impacted by this temporary suspension. All passengers traveling in period July 17th – August 8th will receive full refund plus compensatory voucher for future purchase on Dynamic Airways network. All passengers will be contacted by Dynamic Airways directly or by their respective travel agents.”
It was stated also that the temporary suspension, “will allow the airline to secure time slots at JFK airport, organize better ground handling and check in process as well as secure schedule integrity”. It was also noted that all flights starting from August 8th are not impacted by the change and will be operated as displayed on the entity’s website, and reservation system.

Refund requests are also being processed for persons affected.

Gouveia said that the airline is still committed to serving the Guyanese population and reiterated that bloopers following the company may have been as a result of their haste to service the GEO/NY route.

The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) had explained to Kaieteur News last week that the US-based company had provided all necessary documents to permit their operation in Guyana. Head of the agency, Zulphicar Mohamed had stated that the local Authority had to ensure the safety and security of Dynamic’s operations in Guyana since, as a US company, the base country would have to give clearance for operations out of there.

Mohamed told this publication that according to the documents of Dynamic Airways, the charter company which is now seeking to operate “scheduled chartered” flights is permitted to operate anywhere in US. However to service specific routes e.g. GEO/NY, permission has to be sought with the submission of certain documentations to the airport. In this case, Dynamic has outstanding documentation to be presented to JFK, hence their inability to operate there.

Gouveia confirmed yesterday that the inability of the company to settle its requirements with JFK contributed to the confusion. While the company had gained environmental clearance to operate at JFK, it had not finalized business and emergency plans with the airport’s Commercial Development Unit and Aeronautical Services Unit.

Initially, a screw up with the ground handling crew in NY had been blamed for the airline being unable to operate at JFK since it was claimed that several untagged luggage had gotten onto the Dynamic flight before it conducted its virgin trip to Guyana. That ground handler, Gouveia said, was fired, and that caused much delay on the flight to and from Guyana. It also saw Guyanese passengers to NY facing intense security searches on arrival at JFK. In the end, the airline lost its gate position and to date has no ground handling agent.

Dynamic Airways has been taking passengers to New York via Miami, Connecticut and Atlantic City; but much to their disapproval. Passengers claimed that while the airline tickets claim to be taking them directly to NY, they are taken to alternate locations and then shuttled via bus to JFK.

Gouveia reiterated the suspension of their flights, with hopes that the airline would have all outstanding matters resolved to resume the Georgetown, Guyana operation.

You're a man of great faith, Cobs. Keep it up.

I can see you're not an opportunist. You're with Dynamic through thick and thin. An admirable quality.

That is what Sonny Ramdhin had told us when he was collared in Brooklyn.

There is Caribbean, Travelspan, and Fly Jamaica.  Guyanese have no need for an airline so amateurish that they didn't even know how to ensure that they had gates.

Come on, isn't that BASIC!

Bobby Veira and Brentol Evans were the point person in the NY leg. Neither has airline passenger experience except for flying as a paggenger

since GOG endorsed this Airline, then passengers need to ask Mr Evans and Irfan Ali for refund
