At the rate thing are going, regarding the elections, in Guyana, I do not foresee Guyanese going to the polls by September 18th.  Mr. Granger keeps shifting the responsibility to the Guyana Elections Commission. It is high time that David Granger take on that  high moral ground and call early elections.  Or, is he too timid to do so?

He needs time to game the system. With the list coming out, his people will have the voter file. As such he can target suppression tactics earlier and pad the list where convenient. This is completely strategic delay to plan B the elections. The arrogance of the PPP has always been their downfall. They and their followers deserve the boot that is coming down on their heads.

Had they done the right thing and devolve power from the center and take us to a direct constituency electoral system, the PNC could not easily circumvent democracy.  They now want to do exactly what the PPP did, create their own patronage system were friends and family benefit and where the apportion the state as they see fit to their constituency.

Our salvation lies in a mediating middle where a third party can have the ability to boot any thieving regime from power and let the people do the auto correction.

Jagdeo played into the hands of Granger because of his selfishness. PPP is not even getting the support from the ABC countries in regards to violation of the constitution.... because BJ select an alleged criminal for President.

Most of the PPP top executives are MIA.

While the H2H registration is continuing, Jagdeo encourages his supporters not to register, that was a dumb move.

He should be out there encouraging each of his constituency to make their way to the local registration centers and ensure they are registered.  This is the only way to ensure they are legitimately on the list. The PNC will want to exclude as many of voters they think would be against them in each precinct and pad where they think is necessary

I don't think skulduggery needed for the Coalition to win the coming elections.

I dunno why others cannot see BJ will be the cause of PPP failure to get into office. He placed Irfat in a position where he knows that he (BJ)can manipulate Irfat into doing his bidding.

Last night I had a conversation on how peoples lives can be changed drastically by one person in power, how Hitler was able to commit atrocities because everyone around him followed orders regardless how wrong it was.

We then have today, a president of the USA intent on bringing the country to its knees and only a few in his administration have the balls to stand up against his bullshit....don't tell me they do not know how wrong the fool is, it is all greed. I hope the people remember all this and do what is right, toss these #kers to the curb.

The oil money is making Jagdeo blind to other issues.

To change the needed parts of the constitution; specifically for elections of representatives for each constituency; it requires a minimum of two-thirds of the elected MPs in parliament.

The current constitution was created by Burnham when he miraculously obtained more than two-thirds of the elected MPs; with minor changes made during its period which required a mere majority of MPs.

After the 1992 elections, PPPC and PNCR have obtained MPS in the 30's.

There are no indications that the PNCR has made attempts to coordinate with the PPPC to amend the constitution for the needed changes among others; for elections to held on a constituency basis.

Proportional Representation became the election method in 1964.

Can you present the proposal of  PPPC , regarding electoral changes .

Electoral changes are not within the jurisdiction of the Opposition Party.  Who told you about PPP proposal now?

PPPC never supported proportional representation for elections.

Proportional representation was imposed by Britain for elections in Guyana starting in 1964.

The issues on Duncan Sandys and the UK Government involvement on proportional representation in Guyana are relevant.

Who should win then? Don't say a third party, it ain't happening as much as we would prefer this. You think PPP should get back in?

The PPP should get back in if for no other reason, they proved that they can quickly and peacefully leave when it is time to leave.
