It took nearly 20 years to raise funds and build that one. How long will it take to raise the funds needed to build something like this? Smile

It took only 2 years to build Jagdeos mansion in PII. It is clearly well planned, fits well into the environment and had planning in its arrangement in its green space. If our university presidents receive 7k G in pension how much does a retired soldier gets?

Lets hope that there is a minority government on Tuesday. I will personally lobby for a halving of jagdeo's 200KUS pension so we can finance a better place for men and women who have served the nation well.

I completely agree especially in the area of shared government since Guyana's political history is not good with regard to winner takes all governance. Also it is more difficult to ram legisture down peoples' throats when there is some balanced discension. No legislation law is better than bad legislation. I also understand your sentiment regarding the wellbeing of the military but unless I am mistaken, Guyana's military is not really military. We are never involved in any kind of battle. Lastly, a personal home is not the same as a multiuse/occupant home. It is easier to make decisions alone than when more are involved especially when there are multiple doners to consider. One cannot use this non-government venture to oppose the actions of the government. No need to since there are many areas of the government that is open for debate.

The governmnet had more pressing issues to deal with.

They paid off the national debt $US 1.7 billion. and then they completed over 5000 projects. It costs money to do that. If jagdeo didn't build his house, I would have called him a dunce as I am calling those Guyanese who sit on their asses and want the Government to give then a handouts, like your Amerindians friends.
