Who in the green shirt and khaki pants overseeing the voting.

He is not overseeing the voting.  As a candidate, he is entitled to visit polling stations.

In Canada, US_of_A, Britain, etc., candidates for elections DO Not visit pooling stations to monitor the election process.

Each candidate has representatives who are entitled to be present at the pooling stations and they are situated in a selected area where they can observe the process.

In Canada, US_of_A, Britain, etc., no representative is situated as that shown in the picture of the person in green shirt and khaki pants.

Tell me something I don't know.  If you look at the video of Granger's visit to the polling station you would know that there were dozens of reporters and election observers present.  A reporter asked him about the propriety of him wearing the green shirt etc.  Now go and watch the video for the rest.

Immaterial, he has no right to be present in front of the table and agent where people are voting.

It is perfectly in order if he is making a visit without people at the table to cast their votes.

It will then be considered acceptable as a presidential candidate making a courtesy visit.

Well, Granger hasn't got any work to do so at least he is not out on the streets burning properties. Well, not yet.

He is intimidating the voters. Later he will resort to violence as the elections progress.

PPP says its polling agent told no space for her on flight to observe voting in Upper Mazaruni

https://www.guyanastandard.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/irfaan-ali.jpg

The Presidential Candidate of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), Irfaan Ali, told reporters today that one of their agents was told that she could not be accommodated on a flight bound for Upper Mazaruni to observe voting of joint-services’ officials.

“â€Ķ[Agent] was supposed to join the flight at Ogle to go into Upper Maz[aruni]â€ĶWhen she turned up to join the team on that flight, she was told there’s no space for her, as a result, she could not go. So, we have a situation there where the polling is talking place without our polling agent being there after being ejected from the flight by the officials,” he said.

Asked to clarify if she was ejected, or could not be accommodated due to the lack of space, Ali said: “Well, they were supposed to make provisions to take the polling agents – that’s a part of the preparedness, that is part of what GECOM (Guyana Elections Commission) had to put in place to ensure that the polling agents are there to represent the partyâ€ĶSo, it is of major concern for us.”

Ali said that the Executive Secretary of the Party, Zulfikar Mustapha, has already written to GECOM.

Aside from this issue, Ali reported that voting at the other locations “seems to be going smoothly”.

When the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of GECOM, Yolanda Ward was contacted for a comment on the matter, she said: “I am not sure as to what was the exact circumstances surrounding that. I will have to find out and I will revert to you.”
