CNN Don Lemon panel faces intense backlash for mocking Trump supporters as illiterate 'credulous rubes'

A CNN panel is getting intense backlash for mocking Trump supporters as "credulous boomer rubes," even sparking fierce condemnation from President Trump and his reelection campaign.

The panel, which originally aired on Saturday night during special live coverage of the impeachment trial, featured CNN anchor Don Lemon, New York Times columnist and CNN contributor Wajahat Ali, and ex-GOP strategist Rick Wilson discussing the heated exchange Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had with an NPR reporter, in which he allegedly challenged the journalist to point out Ukraine on a blank map.

Wilson used the topic to mock President Trump as well as his supporters.

"[Pompeo] also knows deep within his heart that Donald Trump couldn't find Ukraine on a map if you had the letter U and a picture of an actual physical crane next to it," Wilson began, causing Lemon to chuckle. "He knows that this is, you know, an administration defined by ignorance of the world. And so that's partly him playing to the base and playing to their audience. You know, the credulous boomer rube demo that backs Donald Trump."

As Lemon began crying with tears of laughter, Wilson went on to depict what he thought a typical Trump supporter sounded like.

"'Donald Trump's the smart one — and y'all elitists are dumb!'" Wilson said with a heavy southern accent.

"'You elitists with your geography and your maps- and your spelling!'" Ali chimed in during the mockery.

"'Your math and your reading!'" Wilson added. "'All those lines on the map!'"

Well...if they just posted like you did, they aint too smart

you could not be more true. You are, taking a cue from Scarborough and not only disinterring irony from the grave but dragging it about knocking over grave stones. This fellow is not only a bloody dunce; he is one of the those who think he represents what is the pinnacle of intellectual excellence! I imagine he thinks one would willingly read all of that ponderous drivel he posted above!

Where is there socialism except in the heads of the dunces like you who are quick to adopt phrases ignorantly without knowing what they imply.  The rich class are not conservative but rabid predators who utilize the umbrella of the conservative sector to delude those in the fly over zones who are indeed feeling undue economic burdens. The reality that there will be no trickle down wealth to them is a fools dream. It never happens, has never happened. Making sure government is Equitable is not socialism it is what good honest government do. The 3 trillion dollars give away to the rich will be on their backs. They will have to pay the short fall in the treasury and the loss of a secure social safety net in The future.

And Trump will lose. America is tired of the face of a a fraud in the WH. It has lost support in the world and is increasingly losing allies. America has meaning only if it remains a beacon of hope for humanity. It cannot be that with that lying, empty headed nincompoop in office. He knows little of history, never reads, do not listen except to sycophants and have no guard ails against the corrupt. No he made himself obsolete aptly demonstrating what it means to be Disgustingly obscene and bereft on any meaningful moral core that help humanity and the planet. He has long ago lost the reelection. The  noisy, vacuous few like you will not make him president again.

Liberal arrogance.  They will get the response at the ballot box.  This is what they are left with after all efforts to depose the President have failed!

Its over, until 2024!

The orange one has never been above 45 percent. Arizona, Georgia, Nevada are also now in play and they can off set a loss in MI for example. He cannot pull the same inside straight. I also dare not retort with "conservative arrogance" since nothing about that stinker is conservatism  in the traditional sense.

Ow me gaad.

Look how all you crying. Me going to order Kleenex for the democrat socialist leftists.
Trump will win the electoral college, again. I cannot believe that Guyanese ran away from Burnham socialism and are living in a free market economy but are now embracing failed socialist leftists policies and politicians. Look at the hobos and homelessness in Schiff riding. That’s the end result of socialism.
