Justice Roxane George-Wiltshire SC this afternoon struck out one of the elections petitions lodged on behalf of APNU+AFC but the other will proceed.

The second petition was thrown out based on the “fatal error” of not being properly served on the  PNCR leader and former President David Granger.

In nullifying one of the two petitions filed for the APNU+AFC coalition challenging the results of the March 2nd 2020 elections results, Justice George-Wiltshire used the words “preposterous” and “absurd” to describe some of the arguments put forward by lawyers for the petitioners as they attempted to sway her from dismissing the petition.

The opposition Coalition filed two petitions challenging the results of the March 2nd General and Regional Elections which saw the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) winning the seat of government on August 2nd.

In the second petition, petitioners Monica Thomas and Brennan Nurse contended that the elections were unlawfully conducted and/or that the results, (if lawfully conducted), were affected or might have been affected by unlawful acts or omissions. They nonetheless argued that from those polls it is Granger who should be declared the duly-elected President of Guyana.

They sought to have the court nullify the outcome and to declare President Irfaan Ali to be illegally holding office.

In the first petition,  petitioners Claudette Thorne and Heston Bostwick want the court to determine among other things, questions regarding whether the elections have been lawfully conducted or whether the results have been, or may have been affected by any unlawful act or omission and in consequence thereof, whether the seats in the National Assembly have been lawfully allocated.

"In the second petition, petitioners Monica Thomas and Brennan Nurse contended that the elections were unlawfully conducted and/or that the results, (if lawfully conducted), were affected or might have been affected by unlawful acts or omissions."

This is the gist of the petition going forward.

Waste of the court's time! Frivalous, vexatious and abuse of due process (whatever that means?)!

Might have? Why beat around the bush with chupidness, come out and say what the real gist/intention of petition 88 is - disregard the SOPs, recount, SOR and validate Mingo’s cardboard box and bedsheet rigging...

Chupidy, Read and understand.  The scope and generality of the remaining petition handled well by a good lawyer will address the issues raised in the one thrown out.

From the horse’s mouth [quote]
“Forde said that Petition 88 seeks to raise questions regarding the validity of Section 22 of the Elections Laws Amendment Act, which was used to bring Order 60 into effect.

Further, the petition seeks to verify the legitimacy of Elections Report, which the petitioner contends is required by the Representation of the People Act to based on the information provided by the 10 Returning Officers and not from the recount process that was birthed by Order 60. Forde said that the consequential declaration made by GECOM naming Irfaan Ali as President was done without any statutory basis.

You guys need to get it in y’all head Mingo et all attempt to rig was busted, the days of rigging are over. Pitition 88 clearly is another request to use Mingo fraudulent numbers to change the election outcome. This was addressed by the court on several occasions already. You got to be real chupidy to think trying the same thing again would eventually yield different results..

Yours is a jaundiced view of the petitions.  You may or may not recall that there were objections to Order 60 as it was argued that it was contrary to the elections act.  That and other issues raised were deemed best addressed in elections petitions.  The petition going forward contends that  Order 60 was improper and even if ruled legal the results were affected by acts and omissions. The scope and generality of this allows for the introduction of a wide range of arguments and evidence.

Et al. there are not enough courts to satisfy APNU/AFC thirst for election fraud. From inception, Granger was playing Judge, jury, and executioner on their own behalf to steal the election in broad daylight. Needless to say, they don't have the footing to stand on. GECOM will have to produce the SOP's and SOR's to the court for safekeeping. My good advice for them is to wait until 2025 and reset for re-entry in the political arena.

Ha! The PPP will put them out of business permanently with their good use of the oil money developing the country! The stealing won't get in the way! The PNC is fighting for its raison d'etre and survival! My concern has always been for the black people the PNC has been using with racial talk while Indos were forging ahead! I keep saying wealth comes from the earth! Why don't they go back to farming like their ancestors before slavery! Their ancestors were forced to work the land for the benefit of others! Why not do the same for your own selves?
