PNC wins no Mo Fiah Slo Fiah, I have a simple question, with such a close result, had it been in favor of the PPP, how many cars would have been destroyed, how many Businesses and Buildings burn to the ground, how many people killed, molested, robbed or worst???  It is a very simple question now, dont stray.

Nehru,no need for this at the moment they feel

represented and Guyana will move forward, every one

can get along.

Guyana was once like that before i was

born, the rest is history which is known why

Guyana was divided.

I am happy to see the country of my

birth have taken a step to once more

reunite the people.

I have no idea when Guyana was this halcyon paradise.  In the colonial era it was severely divided along ethnic, skin color and class lines. People were brain washed to "know their place".

Only whites, Portuguese, and light skinned mixed people were able to work in banks, and the better retail establishments. Ditto for top positions in the public and corporate sectors.

It was so blatant that one could have looked at the race and skin color of the person and would have known what they were doing occupationally.

The fact that people might "get on" doesn't mean that there isn't rampant discrimination and underlying inter ethnic tension.  And I don't know that Guyanese "got on" any better in the colonial era than they do now.

Both groups were at the bottom in a society with Englishmen at the top, with local whites, followed by Portuguese, and then Chinese and red people.

The fact that there was the BGEIA and the LCP will suggest that Africans and Indians had very distinct identities.  The fact that they didnt compete was only because they didnt have anything to compete over.

Guyana has always been a nation based on ethnic competition.  Even before the Europeans came, as the various Amerindian groups were at each other's throats.

Some people still look at the world in BLACK and WHITE, Nehru, come outside smell the flowers and enjoy life in COLOUR. The PPP [coolieman ] did not had a monopoly on Guyana, so change is GOOD.
