My impression of Jainarine Sr was that he was a man that would not think twice about suing you and tieing you up in court for many many years.  If someone conned you then he was the lawyer you should get to get back your money. Prashad last saw him in 1991, he had both arms and was still smart as a fox.

I don't know if this was true. Prash, but I only heard.there had been a.land dispute with 2 Indo brothers in West Demerara or East Essequibo, somewhere near Parika!  Jai shot one, the other is supposed to have.made one of Jai's arms useless through a chop with a cutlass! Correct me if necessary!

You may be right. I saw Jai sr writing with one hand. He had the other hand on the table but I did not see it move. The fingers look okay but I did not see them move.

Jai's son wanted to rent a house from my brother! I advised him against it as this.was a lawyer and it could.be hard.to dislodge him if he didn't pay the rent!

I have a relative who rented his house in Georgetown to a man whose brother was a lawyer. The man did not pay rent for ten years.  Every time my relative tried to get him removed from the house, for non-payment of rent, the man would get his lawyer brother to tie, my relative, up in court. My relative had to wait until the man passed away in the house then get the funeral home to remove him.

Exactly as I.warned my brother! Unfortunately, (I.don't know.what really transpired or who.this guy.was.related to or who.advised.him) the guy in the Robb.Street.fire, which claimed his life and that of his 2.daughters, had been claiming squatters' rights  (whatever that is) and could not be moved! So, my brother and his son-in-law had to spend a few years in prison for something of which they claimed innocence! The case against them was eventually dismissed! Beware of renters who have no previous trustworthy records and proof of steady income!

Totaram: Is that your real name?

Who said these words?

Jagan's socialism was based on solid political analysis. Yes, as a product of the working class he was motivated to help that group but his socialism is a result of political calculus. Hence his assertion that the role of government in a democratic society is to protect the weak and poor because the rich and powerful need no help. That reality has not changed and represents the sentiments of the majority throughout the world. It is a recipe for political success and those who ignore it are doomed to defeat.

I am Totaram.  You are an imposter.  Who said those words?  Sounds like a very wise person.   I agree with the thrust of the statement.

What you dreamers forget is basic demand and supply! The rich usually have few offspring unless they are wealthy enough to support them! The poor impoverish themselves more with each additional child! Sex as entertainment in poor countries without TV, etc.! Why, the rich would ask is, should we support these profligate, stupid people when we can pay them poorly so they don't rise above their condition to challenge us? Who needs the competition! We all can't be rich, except the clever politicians, of course, who encourage you while they steal from the 'people's' government, one way.or another! Why bother about them? Even Jesus said, "the poor are always with us!"
