Isn’t he going for Saturday’s inauguration?

I hope so. Maybe he can stop by Trinidad on his way there and collect those millions that he was bribed for his vote. Then he can use those millions to buy the gold he was inquiring about before he pulled the rug from beneath the Coalition. Then Ramjattan can give him and his gold safe passage back to Trinidad where he can sell the gold and then take the millions to Canada.

... has been living in exile since December 22, 2018. He had to flee his homeland because Volda and other PNC officials made death threats to him. One PNC man even assaulted him in parliament. It's time for Charrandass to go back home and make a contribution. I hope the PPP/C offers him safe conduct and suitable protection.

Even if planes were going to Guyana, it would be best for him to stay where he is for the time being.

Time is always of the essence and Charrandas picked the perfect time to hold the Coalition accountable for their negligence in government. Charrandas will be remembered in history for saving Guyana's democracy because had the Coalition been able to go to the 2020 elections with Patterson as the Chairperson Granger would have succeeded in restoring the rigging machinery of Burnham and Hoyte.

Charrandass Persaud hints at returning to Guyana “very soon”

Charrandass Persaud

Charrandass Persaud, the former A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) Member of Parliament (MP) who voted in favour of the no-confidence motion which saw the toppling of the then coalition Government in December 2018, said that his “self-exile” has come to an end, and hinted that he would be returning to Guyana “very soon”.

“My self-exile has come to an end; COVID is holding me down now, and so I will be returning to Guyana at some point in time. Guyana is home to me, it’s where my job is, it’s where my friends are and so some time soon,” Persaud said in a brief message on his Facebook page.

The former MP, who departed Guyana immediately for Canada on the night the coalition Government toppled, said that he had no regrets about voting the way he did as the APNU/AFC had “neglected the people who put them there”, and the coalition was finally removed from power on August 2, 2020.

“What I set out to do, August 2, 2020 came to fruition. I voted in support of the no-confidence motion to remove the PNC and the AFC-turned PNC; and they have been removed after a long 19 months,” Persaud said.

“I have been in self-exile for 19 months; I brought this upon myself. I did what I did because I wanted to do itâ€ĶI have absolutely no regrets,” Persaud expressed.

He related that the APNU/AFC was defeated at the March 2 General and Regional Elections, because citizens lost confidence in their ability to govern in the nation’s interest.

The former MP noted that the APNU/AFC coalition now had five years to do “damage control” and if it did not, it “may never win another election” in Guyana.

“There is no more 28 years and no more 23 years, you may get a second term if we, the people, are satisfied with your performance, we may consider voting for you again,” he said in reference to the People’s National Congress’s (PNC’s) 28 years and the People’s Progressive Party’s (PPP’s) 23 years at the helm of Government.

Turning his attention to the present PPP/Civic Administration, he encouraged leaders in the Government to look at the mistakes made by the previous coalition Administration and avoid them at all costs.

He posited that there was immediate need for electoral, constitutional, and judicial reforms to ensure that governance systems are improved in order to meet the needs of citizens.

Persaud posited that staff of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) needed to be replaced with persons who could “assume a position of neutrality”.

He added that it was quite unfortunate that in spite of all that Chief Elections Officer (CEO) Keith Lowenfield has done, he was yet to be dismissed.
Meanwhile, Persaud congratulated President Irfaan Ali and his team, whom he said are quite competent to take Guyana forward:

“I know you will do well: you are a beautiful team; you are a well-educated team; you are a powerfully- selected team. Make the Guyanese happy that is all I ask for.”

He noted that the task ahead was a “monumental” one, but he had “absolute confidence” in the leadership of President Ali and his team to make Guyana a prosperous country for all its citizens.

Errol say thanks for coming over to Markham to share a drink with him, lucky the police didn't raid ayuh, there was over 10 people at the party.

Errol all over again, sucking up to President Ali, remember in the 90's he was a PPP, they sent him to UG, then he jump ship and joined AFC with Rumjaat and Nagga and slowly became a YES man for the PNC.

I suggest he remain in Canada, if he return to Guyana ,he will always have a TARGET on his back. Dr Jagdeo is not so keen about Errol, look and see

Errol is trying to RIDE on the PPP victory, in my book he is a COWARD, he voted against his party and not with the PPP. For 19 months the PPP fought to clean up his mess, everyone campaigned ,except Charrandas. The PPP along with their talented lawyers and the leadership of Jagdeo WON the Battle. Errol NCV  antagonized the PNC more to prolong the election, making the PNC to use all legal avenue to remain in office. Charran is history!

Charran should show them all how fearless he is, return to Guyana, and let's see what PPP offers him!

PPP owes him nothing. What he did was because he was treated like a Rag Doll by the PNC, he was a Back Bencher and was looking for minister job. In one year he was only allowed to talk for 35 minutes, look at his last speech in parliament how he criticized the PPP, like never before, let's be reminded.

Not everyone wants something for doing a good turn. Top AFC lawyer-leaders who know better accused Charrandass of taking big bribe for his NCV. Up to now no proof tendered as evidence. PPP/C doesn't have to offer Charrandass anything. He's a competent attorney and can live on his lawyering. Honour before money.

How could he have been in exile when he has been in Canada where he is a citizen? Can a citizen living in his own country be in exile?

Can Charrandass practice his Lawyering in Canada ?

At Charrandass' victory celebration for Ali Baba, he made some candid revelations, admitting to accepting a bribe from the PPP. Ali Baba started the grooming of Charrandass by bribing him with an airline ticket to Canada after his sister had died. The PPP tugged at Charrandass' heart in his most vulnerable moment and that laid the foundation for bigger things at the NCV.

This ties in with a resolve regarding Charrandass confrontation at a PPP meeting in Canje  and a present square peg minister being replaced as PPP officer in Berbice, during the last PPP government.

Mitwah. I got a friend from Africa who is a Canadian citizen. He is from Uganda and just did his law degree there. Do you know if it would be hard for him to qualify to practice in Canada?

Most lawyers are really Clerical Help, who knows of certain rules and regulations and the applications.

A Criminal Lawyer, is a different banna, that person is born lier and thief. And any one with those traits is capable of murder.

Corporate Lawyer, is a Robber Baron, he moves in high circles but really is a thief with pizzaz and class.

No, his best known act is one of betrayal. He is not a stable person--he appears to be always high on something but I have been told that he doesn't drink.

The above is pure speculation. However, there is no speculating in my statement that his most recent known practice was as a PNC led Coalition Member of Parliament. It was at that parliament that he said this.

How is it speculation when the world knows that Charandass voted against his own government.  Isn't that act of betrayal?

He didn't betray his party because according to the CCJ ruling he is not obligated to be a rubber stamp to his party. But most important was that he stopped his party from betraying the people of Guyana.

He said at that party that his comrades held for him on Sunday that if Lawrence had been given that timeout he would have been replaced by someone who was unwilling to stop his party from betraying the people of Guyana. He said that early in the day Lawrence threatened anyone who voted against the NCM. He did the noble thing in supporting the NCM and today Guyana is in better management.
