PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Yvonne Hinds, wife of Guyana’s Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds, allegedly perjured herself in a Pennsylvania court yesterday where she testified in a custody hearing involving her son, Nikolai Hinds.
Nikolai petitioned for and obtain full custody of his three year son from his estranged wife, Elizabeth Hinds, a Venezuelan national.
Mrs. Yvonne Hinds reportedly falsely testified in court that her son was never involved in any violent crime inGuyana and has no criminal record.
However court filings and testimony indicate that Nikolai Hinds has a violent history, and was ostensibly arrested four years ago in Georgetown, and then released, for allegedly shooting a gentleman in the ear in the vicinity of the Prime Minister’s residence in Georgetown, Guyana. Elizabeth testified that the man allegedly shouted “Sam Hinds is a low life,” referring to the Guyanese Prime Minister, while passing the Hinds’ residence, prompting Nikolai to chase after him. She said Nikolai then slapped the gentleman in the face with a gun but that the safety pin unlatched, causing the gun go off. The bullet shot off piece of the man’s ear she testified. Nikolai was arrested by Police but was allegedly released after his father intervened. Yvonne Hinds, however, denied under oath that these incidents ever took place. The junior Hinds’ wife, Elizabeth, also testified that her now estranged husband is abusive and routinely committed serious violent acts against her. Testifying that her husband once pulled her out of a night club in Guyana with a gun to her head, Elizabeth said that Nikolai is “trigger happy” and habitually pulled out his gun whenever in a confrontation. Attorneys for Elizabeth argue that judge erred in granting Hinds “full custody” of the child, with provision to remove him from the United States without the consent of his mother. They posit that the judgment was reliant upon the political clout of Prime Minister Hinds and his wife, who they say offered false testimony. They argue that the Family Court judge has no jurisdiction to award custody of a child, who is a United States citizen, to a none US citizen parent residing outside of the US, especially when the mother is a resident of the US and has not been found by a court of law to be an incompetent parent. Reports are that Nikolai came to the US on a student visa which has reportedly now expired. He has worked at JFK Airport as a baggage handler for Delta airlines, and is set to return to his country of origin. The attorneys plan to appeal the judges ruling to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and to seek injunctive relief, baring the Hinds’ from removing the child from the US until a final determination of the matter. Meanwhile Elizabeth Hinds has now retained the services of an international custody attorney. Court observes say that the case is likely to quickly evolve into another bitter international custody case involving a US born child.
Which man on this board here would want his wife or girlfriend to be at nightclubs dancing up with other men around at 1 am in the morning?
Particularly if the woman has a child for him.
