Bloddy Monday in Guyana, 4 murders in less than 24 Hours

Monday May 14 is Guyana recorded 4 murders in less than 24 Hours.

The first was the discovery of the semi-nude body of a 54-year old Mother of 6 on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway just after 4 AM.

Judy Joseph of Swan Turn Soesdyke, who was reportedly raped, murdered and dumped in front of a night spot.

 

Then aroun 7AM a 71-year. Security guard at a fowl farm at Number 19 Village, Corentyne, Berbice was found at his work site.

Karamchandas was found by his employer with his head bashed in.

Around 2PM 76-year old Elma Thom’s semi nude, partly decomposed body was found in Canje East Berbice, with a cloth stuffed in her mouth.

The elderly woman was missing since last Wednesday.

 

And about 7:45PM a former Human Resources Manager of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and later Director of the Guyana Trinidad Mutual (GTM) George White was stabbed to death in Bentick Street, Tiger Bay, Georgetown during a robbery.

White was stabbed once in the region of the heart when his car and jewellery were stolen.

Only last week the Guyana Police released statistics which showed a significant reduction in murders for the first 4 months of this year as compared to the same period in 2011.
