BCB Second Division 40 overs…Rose Hall Tigers upset RHTY&SC, Skeldon Titans, Tain Block 4 secure wins

Action in the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Second Division 40 Overs competition continued last weekend and fans were treated to some impressive cricketing action over at the Port Mourant Community Centre and the Vikings Ground on the Corentyne.
At the Port Mourant Community Centre, the newly formed Rose Hall Tigers destroyed their rival Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club by 7 wickets in their 40 overs game. Batting first, Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club scored 162 with Junior Sinclair top scoring with 41, while Kevlon Anderson supported with 21 and Keith Simpson 19. Bowling for Rose Hall Tigers, Lloydel Lewis took 3 for 18 in his 8 overs, while T. Jagdeo and Steven Latcha took one wicket each.
In their reply, Rose Hall Tigers reached their target in 34 overs with 7 wickets in hand. The Fluent and composed Lloydel Lewis scored 44, while Brentnol Woolford top scored with 53. P Wilburg contributed 19 to the score. Batsmen Khemraj Mahadeo and Delbert Hicks, both formerly of Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club were left not out on 18 and 4 respectively.
Over at the Vikings Ground on the Corentyne Coast, hosts # 77 were defeated by the Skeldon Titans in their match which was reduced to 35 overs. Batting first, Skeldon Titans scored 154 all out in 33 overs with Errol Byas top scoring with 47 not out and Christopher Jaundoo 24. Bowling for # 77, A. Singh took 2-21, V. Narine 2-25, G. Ramnarine 2-23 and T. Ramdass 2-32.
In their batting innings, # 77 were bowled out for 120 due to disciplined bowling from Jermaine Reid 3-33, Victor Pedro 2-28 and Errol Byas 3-35. Skeldon Titans won by 34 runs.
At the Tain Block 4 Ground, hosts Tain Block 4 defeated Kildonan by 215 runs. Batting first, Tain scored a massive 362 runs in their innings with batsmen Madan Kumar Boodram top scoring with 129, Ian Nunes 41, Daniel Balkarran 32, Mahendra Mangal 22, and Doodnauth Pataram 23. Bowling for Kildonan, Clifford McKenzie took 4-51 in his 8 overs, Colin Williams 2-82 in 7 overs, while S. Cameron & Colin Bynoe took 1 wicket each.
Kildonan was bowled out for 147. Bowling for Tain, Daniel Balkarran took 7-48 in 7 overs, while Ruel Pergass had figures of 2-20 in 4 overs.
The competition continues at venues across the county.
