This was a popular song in Guyana and the Caribbean in the 60's and 70's. But it was banned from Radio Demerara. It was sung over by the Merrimen. But does anyone still have the original? Please post the link. Thanks.

who was the original performer, can't remember anyone other than the Merrimen doing it.

What is there in the song to caused it to be banned.

I remember the original version but cannot remember who sang it. Legend has it that he didn't really say "bruck" but it come out that way because he had a tie tongue!

The original version was banned because they were not sure whether he meant bruk or the other word. It wasn't clear.
