Riot police were called out to a PPP/C meeting last evening at Stabroek Market Square, where three persons were arrested and others were forcibly removed after being accused of disruptive behaviour.

A senior police officer, who was present at the rally, denied reports of physical assaults by lawmen, while explaining that the arrests were made after supporters of APNU turned up and tried to disrupt the meeting. There was one case, he said, where a policewoman held on to a female and they fell and the girl was pulled away.

Absolutely wrong. The PPP must keep the high ground. Leave the cussin and violence to the opposition, and when they keep losing, maybe their tactics will change.

The PPP engages in lost of violent intimidation. maybe not openly a sis the cas eith soem over enthusiastic APNU supporters (no proof has been provided that this is centrally directed party strategy).

What we do know is the PPP has threatened people who have gotten houselots, etc, when they have gone to AFC meetings. Now THAT is centrally directed as only the pwoerful can make good on those threats.

Of course Jagdeo has made himself look quite vulgar making all sorts of libelous statements about opposition figures fro which he woudl be subject to lawsuits if he wasnt immune from this.

Interestingly he has not seen it fit to destroy Burnham's constitution even though his entire harangue is about Guyana pre 1992. Why is that?
