AFC fails to attract crowds on Essequibo Coast

THE Alliance For Change (AFC) failed to attract large crowds at the two public meetings it held on the Essequibo Coast over last weekend.

Reports said the meeting at Anna Regina Car Park was poorly attended as Essequibians openly rejected its policies. Even as its Presidential Candidate, Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan spoke, only a few people stood up in the large open area. Many said they were not interested in what he was saying and walked away.

At Charity, on Sunday afternoon, the attendance was worse as no one seemed to take interest and there was no gathering.

The AFC then took its campaign to RCA TV Channel 7, where they hoped to get an audience. However, one person who was viewing the programme said Ramjattan appeared annoyed and continued attacking the Government.

The person said he switched off his television and went to bed, noting that the AFC has a weak and poor presence on Essequibo Coast.

That is the big difference between PPP and AFC meetings.
The PPP bus people from places where other rallies will be held, but people attend AFC meetings on their own free will, because of their genuine interest.

It is stupid for the PPP to do this false pretense and everyone knows about it.
Plus each person can only vote once and the PPP might be in for a bigger shock on election day, unless they have plans to rig the election.

Is there anywhere where the AFC has been attracting any crowd?

The Obituary of the AFC has been written, only time which seems very soon, for its demise to become yet another norm.

Peace - let us wait - 7 weeks to go.

PPP/C majority victory again in about seven weeks. Big Grin

You know you all AFC people should stop your nonsense. Its becoming increasingly apparent that your endless focus on Region 6 has cost you support.

Yes the PPP can bus in "supporters". They can get them to the polling stations too. Its abvious that the AFC cannot do this.

So stop making excuses and understand that you all made two mistakes.

1. In stead of having a continuous campaign since 2006 to build up a strong grass roots organization you all went to sleep until recently.

2. You then concentrated most of your efforts on the Corentyne coast in response to accusations of some AFC members that Ramjattan ha sno support base.

At this late stage you are now running around other regions to find that people have written you all off. You cant win and you no longer carry that excitement of "newness" that you had. You all now have a track record, and it was one of laziness while in parliament.

Clearly not.

They have two excuses.

1. In PPP areas they say people are afraid to come out. This might be valid as most still support the PPP in those areas (they just dont like Jagdeo) and will socially isolate "traitorsd"...or do even worse.

2. In PNC areas they say turn out doesnt matter but then it suddenly matters when the PPP also fails to get a decent turn out.

Since last year I said that the AFC had to get more active. Now one year later we see what the results of their inactivity has been. NO ONE IS INTERESTED IN THEM!!!!

It is a given that the PPP will win the upcoming general elections.

However, I am not confident that they will garner 50% of the votes.

Many Indians will vote for the AFC, however, you will not see them at AFC rallies, you might even find them at PPP rallies. Reason being that they are weary of the witch hunting techniques of the PPP.

I am on the ground and you are wrong, you folks including Caribj are reading the national inquirer the same propaganda apparatus which you know is run by the PPP and you are ignoring the facts gerald is putting on here which is the PPP are having worse attendance at their meetings and they are the incumbents.

Caribj you should be ashamed for pushing PPP propaganda from the national inquirer. Give me a break. I can assure you the people in Region 4,5,6 and 10 knows clearly who the winner of these elections will be.

The contest is not going to be won here where Caribj seems hell bent on beating up the AFC and the PPP because his PNC is dead as a duck.
