"Duncan told reporters that his intention was to nominate Jaikarran for the post of Deputy Mayor. β€œMy intention was to nominate Councillor Jaikarran, but I’m not young enough; not vibrant enough. But I wish both the mayor, and I have already expressed my congratulations to the incoming deputy mayor…The road is going to be very rough, but I think they will come out all the better forward.”

There you go Georgetown got a young Deputy Mayor.

Following the elections, Jaikarran told reporters outside of the council chambers that AFC no longer has a voice at the City Council. β€œIn the process, local government democracy at City Hall…the AFC was kicked to the curb madam. Kicked to the curb. In other words, the AFC no longer has a voice at City Hall and I think Sherod would concur with me.”

Jaikarran is still a councillor so how does he no longer have a voice? Jaikarran is a friend of mine and I thought that he was doing a good job as Deputy Mayor. They snooze and they lose with nominating him for another term as Deputy Mayor. Wait till next year!

That young Deputy Mayor is APNU. Fact is, the AFC Deputy Mayor was kicked out. APNU+AFC running central government. Up to 2 days ago APNU+AFC was running the M&CC. Now APNU alone running the show. It seems like APNU is marginalizing AFC in local government. APNU did the same thing to the AFC in the Bartica Town Council last year.
