The Alliance for Change (AFC) has said the Guyanese government is reopening failed sugar factories in an effort to create jobs for its mainly East Indian base.

AFC leader Khemraj Ramjattan accused the People’s Progressive Party/ Civic (PPP/C) government of engaging in an “ethnicisation policy”, “sectarian spending” and providing “red meat to its East Indian base.”

“The world market price for sugar is half of Guyana’s production cost. Where will the profits from an increased production come from?” Ramjattan asked at a media conference today.

He said the AFC and its A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) coalition partner made the cost effective decision to close facilities such as the Skeldon Sugar Factory.

Ramjattan told the government that “propaganda will not make sugar profitable” and that money should be used to provide training for Guyanese so they will not become the “cane cutters of the future.”

He also condemned the recent firing of mainly Afro-Guyanese from public service positions saying the government is “provoking trouble.”

“A cycle of hatred can be created from this uncalled development which can segregate our community further,” Ramjattan stated.

The AFC will be assisting former public servants.

AFC executive and MP Catherine Hughes said anyone, who was affected, can submit their dismissal documents to the Opposition Leader’s Office for assistance with legal representation.

Ramjattan does not want PPP to create jobs for their base because he is afraid that they are going to reelect them in 2025.  Sugar is profitable and the revenue will be used to pay afro_guyanese Civil Servants, Police Officers, and the army. Ramjattan is sowing the seeds of strife and racism. The Coalition close the factories because they want to make Indians suffer. Ramjattan said that money should be used to provide training for Guyanese so they will not become the “cane cutters of the future.” He did not say to train them what to do. He condemned the firing of an inept afro_guyanese from a public service position, the very same thing the coalition did in 2015. Ramjattan is trying to create segregation of our people further than ever. If I remember well, Ramjattan and Moses were preaching Racism when they were with the PPP.

Now, what do you call this?   Is there a  better word for it than "chupidness"?

I didn't know that you can read and comprehend what you read. Who helped you with the big words? One more thing. I don't give a rat's ass what you think. Your bad manners can only be exceeded by your bad manners.
