Historically you have to apply and be approved for a firearms license in Guyana for a specific reason. The right to bear arms, with the proper checks of course, is not a constitutional or legislative right in Guyana.

 

Other than crimes of passion and suicides, might the prevalence of firearms in the hands of decent, deserving citizens not server to lessen the incentive for violent crimes against persons in Guyana?

 

Basically is it the time to even broach the topic?
