Well this man's best hope is that the Coalition succeeds in pushing the election back to next year.  The only mention I hear of him is from D2 and he has no money, nor manpower to built out his group to become a contender.

Guyana is run by the party which has the most votes.  Thanks to the backwardness of the PPP no post election alliances are allowed, as does happen everywhere else when no single party commands the majority of the votes. So if the PPP gets 45% and this is the largest then they control 100% of cabinet.

@Former Member 2020 is looking more realistic by the day both the PPP and APNU aka PNC have showed us 50+ of terrible leadership development  and if Charrandas showed anything is that a slim majority makes governing with impunity almost impossible for a long stretch if the smaller parties can gain enough or split the votes. I think something like 45% (not 100%) sure tbh of our voting age is under 40 that should be who these guys target (for now) the hardest thing besides money will be getting that demo graphic out to vote but with the right candidate who knows ?

On a personal note I just thought Lennox Shuman was impressive and for the first time in donkeys years felt he respresented and spoke to me in terms of who I would vote for his ideas and how Guyana should be seen

Doug,

Guyanese are not ready for a third party since the AFC killed that option for years to come. He might end up with one seat at the most at upcoming elections. It takes time, money and resources to build a party. Shuman doesn't have any of those working in this favour right now.

FM

@Former Member You could be right tbh but if the AFC did anything it was to show that a third party could hold sway but then decided to play lap dog and soup drink for 3 years and then Charrandas showed up and did exactly what the AFC should have been doing. Not saying LJP or ANUG can win but maybe (hopefully) just keep chipping away at these two colonial,Cold War, part-time aka election time racist, incompetent parties.

I have to agree that a third party is good for Guyana's politics but if we are to examine ANUG, they will be seen as a party of men from the past aka Cold War politicians notably Ralph. We can honestly admit that we will be recycling and compounding a problem by having Ralph around.

Shuman is young, new and fresh but he needs time to build his party.  He can make a difference but he needs to stay on track and build his party but that will take quite some time. Will he have the patience to stick around for another ten years ?

We are stuck with the PPP and PNC. Guyanese will have to chose between the lesser of two evils for now.

What many Guyanese have failed to realize is that the Charandass vote changed the way future Governments will treat their MP's and voter base. Behave like the PNC and face a NC vote !

What really did Charrandas achieve?  Does this benefit Guyana or just the greedy power drunk obsession of Jagdeo, so desperate to control oil money that he appoints an idiot like Irfaan to be presidential candidate.

And now we see daily letters from PPP members complaining about this.  I am not sure why the surprise as we all told them that Jagdeo wanted a place holder as the PPP presidential candidate and that Irfaan was the most likely fit, given that he is a puppy dog who will wag his tail as his master commands.

Does anyone think that the PPP is any different? Have the learned any lessons?  I think not.

The only way to chip away at the PPP and the PNC is to insist that a new constitution be developed and new systems of governance and that every cross section of Guyana be involved in this.

I am not sure why some Guyanese are playing to Jagdeo's agenda instead of insisting that a new constitution and systems of governance be made a priority.

Yes they will select soup lickers who they can control and immediately recall any who begin to show individual initiative.  And even presidential candidates, Irfaan Ally being exhibit one.

Lucky that Granger doesnt have the same dictatorial traits as Jagdeo, so once he is gone he will be out of the picture.

@Former Member Ralph has been in the trenches with the PPP for better or worse he’s left it late to make a stand but at least he done so and is actually talking a lot of sense along with Kian Jabor who again is young and has fresh ideas.

Agree with you here can Lennox Shuman and LJP stay the course that’s a big question but he left a good career as a pilot  comes with zero baggage and is part of the Guyana that now makes up the majority in terms of age, and Amerindian a community (growing along with mixed) who both black and Indian have treated disdain whoever is in power.

Have to disagree with you here we do have a choice but it’s a difficult one to make especially if you’re in a backdam in Berbice or a shack in Linden

It would be nice to think that these two dinosaurs would do that we all know they won’t I could never vote for a PPP with Jagdeo at the helm again it’s all about him and nothing but him how did Vindhya Persaud get passed up, how come Charles Ramson not even get a look in? And with APNU looking more and more like gods waiting room everyday I don’t see them changing the slimmest of majority’s at this stage looks to be (in my opinion) the best way for now

Granger doesn't have the same dictatorial traits as Jagdeo? Granger is currently refusing to respect the constitution. Jagdeo left the OP when his two terms were up in 2011. Granger is on the verge of creating a constitutional crisis just so he can remain in power. This in-spite of him currently fighting cancer. It seems that you need a refresher course on what dictatorial means.

Jagdeo used a criminal to slaughter Guyanese, including one of his own ministers.  That to me is as dictatorial as one can get.

Jagdeo didn't believe that the PPP would lose an election which is why he appointed a stooge and left. When that stooge lost the election in 2015 Jagdeo pushed him aside, after slapping him up and cussing him down and has now select a mentally retarded thief to be the PPP presidential candidate. And I suggest that you read several letters written in Guyanese papers by PPP supporters, one even a PYO member, which stated exactly that.

Jagdeo is angry that his little stunt isnt quite working out the way that he wished. The NCV wasn't a priority. A new constitution and forms of governance is.

I see that you judge Granger to be a dictator because, according to you, he doesnt abide by a constitution which was fraudulently installed by a dictator who had blood on his hands.

Your love for the Burnham constitution is noted.

Now folks would think that the real constitutional crisis is the fact that a constitution foisted on Guyana by a bloodthirsty dictator 40 years ago is still in place.

A further crisis is that the PPP defends it as if it is sacred text, this having screamed that it was the best in the Caribbean.

No Jaggy just did. He is in a panic with many PPP supporters in open rebellion against Irfaan and Irfaan himself now being revealed to be a dunce.

Jaggy needs time to find an excuse to dump Irfaan and is hoping that a fake degree will turn up.

In the meantime no PM candidate even though you all want the election in 3 weeks!

And with all these problems that Jagdeo just created for the PPP, the Coalition especially the PNC are scared shit to allow the voters to voice their opinion.

Jagdeo is scared too.  If he was ready we would already know about the black stooge that he was trying to bribe to be the PM;

And yes the deal with the previous PM candidate is well known to the public. I will not repeat the details as she is no longer a public citizen and so deserves privacy, especially as she was kicked to the curb by the PPP when she couldn't deliver black votes.
