Forgive druggie. He knows that he is an inferior person, and wishes to find others who he can feel superior to.  Sad man refusing to understand that Indo Guyanese perform no better than Afro Caribbean people, in fact Guyanese have HIGHER drop out rates than Jamaicans in NYC, based on NYC stats.

Unless he is able to prove that Guyanese blacks do worse than their fellow Afro Caribbean counterparts, clearly it suggests that Indo Guyanese are now way in a position to boast about their educational performance in NYC.

There is no African subcontinent. How is it possible to describe a community as doing "remarkably well" in the same sentence stating there is a "large number of people in poverty?" Do you have any idea how many of the best and brightest engineers/scientists/doctors are black?

You words are from pure ignorance and bigotry.

He didn't say that Caribbean blacks and American blacks should be treated different.

He didn't say that the Obama kids and an illiterate ghetto kid should be seen as different.

No he didn't get into the complexities of the black population.

He said black, because like you, and druggie, he defines blacks by the worst of the lot.

Saying that an ideology of "blackman a kill ahbe", "blackman bad, Indos good" is NOT racist. You have never been able to describe what it is that I say is racist, given that I do NOT claim that Africans are immune from racism towards Indians, and that Indians haven't suffered as a result.

I suggest that you go read comments made by others, as they responded to my banning, which was NOT because of my comment about Nehru.

Even then NONE of you were able to articulate what I say that is racist.  Your rage is because I refuse to let you all get away putting 100% of the blame on blacks.  And I also remind you that many rural Indians (especially Hindus) are quite ethnocentric (clannish) and there is no place for this behavior in a country where no group exceeds 40% of the population.

The time of allotments in University/colleges is long past.  Everyone should compete on merit, not race, plain and simple!!  Blacks are no different and they do possess the aptitude to compete with anyone!!

Interesting that the same GOP, which ensures that inner city schools are starved of resources, then scream when even the best of these schools cannot compete.

Raw affirmative action into colleges ended long ago. One cannot get into college by virtue of being black.

And don't pull out the average SAT scores either, as legacy kids (almost al white) and white athletes score worse than average blacks.

The GOP continues to encourage mediocre whites with this nonsense, instead of dealing with the increasing difficulties faced by poorer whites, which increasingly mirror those of poorer blacks.

They encouraged a culture of racial resentment, telling them that blacks, Hispanics and "furriners" were getting favored treatment. This as they closed down plants and ensured that real wages have declined, all due to decisions made by rich white men.

So poor white men vote for a rich white legacy kid. A spoiled brat who only succeeded because his daddy gave him a platinum spoon.

This is why they are pushing for more State control.  So you don't have to blame the Federal govt.  Schools are generally not as unequal as in the past.

I have a few relatives lived in, and kids attend, so-called mediocre school districts. The kids all went from these "looked-down upon schools" off to good colleges and Uni.  In fact, one just got admitted to MIT and started last Sept.

I agree that school makes a difference, but too much blame is placed there.  If a kid has the aptitude and willingness to do well and parents take the interest, they will do well.  This goes for anyone!!

Stop always blaming the system and others out there in the ether!!

Good systems are what make things work. The idea of relying on good humans to produce a standard product is a rubes goldberg solution in our modern welfare state. You blame the system everywhere else in your life but yet here you want to blame the parent. Sociology 101 tells you that it is peer group that contribute most to defining identity. School systems and the atmosphere they create formalizes the status of peer groups here. Good schools produce good students and that is more than a rule of thumb. That is why most of you here yap about the quality of an ivy league education.

Stop lying, where did I blame Black parents?  In fact, I know and admire many Afro Guyanese/WIs who hold a tight rein on their kids here and the kids do very well.

And kids from very good homes also don't always do well.  Sometimes even within a family, some do better than others.  That is an issue for all races.  As I said, it's a combo of several factors, parenting being only one!!

Clearly personal attributes and parental involvement are key, but how can a bright kid compete when there are no AP classes, no equipment and the worst teachers in the system?

The cannot compete to get the grades to get to the Ivies, because the attitude that this country has to blacks is that they are worth nothing, and so no resources should be used to help them.

In fact you peddle the same rant in Guyana with Linden.

So yes if skin color determines one's access to opportunity, than clearly race remains an issue.

When racist like you roam this earth, damning blacks as lazy, criminal and useless, unless they have the opportunity to prove otherwise, they need to have the best credentials to offset these perceptions.

You cannot walk away from the fact race still remains an issue in this country, especially for the black middle class.

Do white parents have to fear that the police might shoot their son?  Well upper middle class black parents have this fear, and have experienced enough to know that this isn't irrational!

If you weren't such a racist you would know that many upper middle class American blacks have the same goals.

And in fact ALL have to school their sons in what to do if they encounter a cop at night. This why these kids do NOT engage in the drugs or binge drinking that their white peers would.

And these parents will also tell you of the unceasing battles that they must fight to ensure that their sons, especially, are treated fairly by school systems.

I will not argue the details or merits of what you write, but, as I said, this is where the issue needs to be addressed.

And the GOP is starving public schools because they prefer to spend their money on tax cuts and defense.

So bright kids, with ambitious parents who live in less affluent communities are condemned to mediocre colleges, which, being less prestigious, cannot shield this blacks from the racism which is to follow. Daily I got calls from black parents who are frantic that their college grad kids seem less able to find work than their white counterparts.

Nah, he was addressing the issue of being "placed" in an environment where you struggle to compete.  Any Afro and anyone else who get there on plain merit, stand a better chance!

Scalia said blacks belong in slower colleges. END OF STORY!

I went to an Ivy where 10% of the students were black.  They did NOT struggle and all graduated on time!  This was a Master's degree. As far as I know most of them are doing well.

Blacks are presumed to be incompetent and unproductive, as you well know, given that you scream this regularly.  They need the image boost of a high tier school more than do others, even Hispanics.
