Esha and Bharat

Esha Deol who tied the knot with businessman Bharat Takhtani back in 2012 shared some extremely loving clicks of herself with the man recently. The look and feel of the pictures is so romantic that they seem straight out of a Bollywood film. From holiday clicks to the ones from family functions, Esha rocks a healthy glow upon her face just as she continues to pose with her handsome husband.

Pictures reveal that this ravishing beauty shares a very passionate bond with hubby Bharat who cannot tire of serenading her in his arms. Perhaps it would not be wrong to say that Esha has never looked as beautiful ever in any of her films as she did in the clicks.  One can even spot Hema Malini and Dharmendra in some of the clicks.

Check out the pictures.

No One Can Stop Me From Starting Dance Academy: Hema Malini

No One Can Stop Me From Starting Dance Academy: Hema Malini

Hema Malini said she has waited for 20 years to have her own dance academy, where classical dance forms would be taught, and she won't let "politics" ruin her plan

New Delhi:

Highlights

  1. BJP MP Hema Malini says no one can stop her from starting dance academy
  2. Hema: Won't let politics ruin what I've waited to do for 20 years
  3. Hema Malini allegedly grabbed land worth crores for a nominal price

Allegations that she illegally grabbed land for a dance academy at a nominal price notwithstanding, veteran actress-lawmaker Hema Malini asserts no can stop her from from establishing her institute.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Bombay High Court last month sought a direction to the city police commissioner to file a case of cheating and forgery against the yesteryear actress and Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse on charges of illegally allotting land.

Ms Malini said she has waited for 20 years to have her own dance academy, where classical dance forms would be taught, and she won't let "politics" ruin her plan.

"I have been waiting for this for 20 years and when I was about to get it so much hullabaloo was created that I got scared. People said, 'You leave it, why are you after this land? I said why should I leave something I have been wanting for so many years," Ms Malini told PTI in an interview.

"I want to impart my dance my music, I want to make an institute and teach children. How can they stop it? Why are they talking about some bloody politics and spoiling my thought and creation," she asked.

A trained Bharatnatyam dancer herself, Ms Malini said traditional Indian art forms are being distanced by people today and she wants to retain them by imparting co-curricular education to youth.

"Classical dance forms and music are slowly going away. It is very important to impart these to children..."

The 67-year-old actress also feels youngsters should be trained in the art forms of legendary artistes in the country to keep traditions alive.

Referring to the Padma Shri row involving veteran actress Asha Parekh in which Union Minister Nitin Gadkari claimed she lobbied for the award, Ms Malini said artists should be given their due respect, which is beyond these honours.

"There are so many legends in our country, what has government done for them till today? They should be recognised, artistes should be given respect, giving a Padma Shri or a Padma Vibhushan (is not enough) and that too when they run after and ask for it. Artistes want some recognition.

"Institutes should be named after these legendary artistes. Some institute should be named after Lata Mangeshkar. We should train kids in the music and dance of our legends, that's how we can keep the traditions alive."

“Internationally, such beautiful films are made with elderly actresses but that doesn’t happen here,” Hema Malini said.

Hema Malini says there is a dearth of opportunities for older actresses in Hindi films unlike in Hollywood, where quality roles get written for female stars of all ages.

Malini, who has starred in more than 150 films during her glorious career, feels she can still play a variety of characters on screen but feels quality roles are hard to come by.

“Internationally, such beautiful films are made with elderly actresses but that doesn’t happen here. They don’t want to invest money because filmmaking is too expensive so why would they risk it with me? That’s the problemâ€Ķ No one comes to me with (good roles),” the 67-year-old actress told PTI.

“Meryl Streep is doing fantastic work. She is of my age. I can also do so many things but I need opportunities for that,” she added.

The actress, who is the BJP MP from Mathura, was last seen on the big screen in a guest appearance in megastar Amitabh Bachchan-starrer “Aarakshan” (2011).

She will now be seen in Ramesh Sippy’s upcoming production “Shimla Mirchi”, which also stars Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh.

“It is a sweet comedy and I had fun doing the film. I say yes when interesting roles come up and I thought this part was really nice so I agreed to be a part of it.”

Malini, meanwhile, has entered a new territory– singing. She has launched her maiden album “Dream Girl”, which has been composed by Babul Supriyo and features his duet “Aji suniye to zara, kya hai manjra” with the actress.

The album also has two Bengali songs, which Malini had originally recorded for Kishore Kumar.

“I never thought I would sing professionally but it so happened that I made Babul hear a Bengali song I had sung many years ago. He thought I should sing and bring out an album. I readily agreed. I don’t let any opportunity go.”

When asked what was the reaction of her family to her songs, Malini said, “My family liked the tracks. Dharam ji was surprised to hear me sing. To impress him, I even recorded a ghazal and made him hear that. He said, ‘I never knew you sing so well’. I said that now whenever you write a ghazal next, I will sing.”

“Dream Girl” was earlier launched in Mumbai by Dharmendra, Bachchan and his wife Jaya Bachchan. The “Baghban” actress has also recorded a bhajan album, which she will release soon.
