Reply to "Why I won’t celebrate India’s independence"

Young East Indian Hindus of Guyana must be educated by the older generations of Hindus to see that it is a privilege to be a Hindu. Hindus sacrificed their lives for hundreds of years so that the young people of today can be Hindus and live in the tradition of their Indo-Aryan and Dravidian ancestors. The West Indian creole culture may put down Hinduism as a backward religion of orange cloth and Koolie water rice inferior people. Sure Hinduism does not have a Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Malcolm x or Cat Stephens nor Martin Luther King Jr or Martin Luther himself but Hinduism produced Ramanujan,Gandhi, Bose, George Harrison and even Jiddu Krishnamurti (The Philosopher of Bruce Lee). Its warriors caused the first defeat of Alexander the Great and once ruled from Madras to Malang.  It is a privilege to carry on the traditions of our Indo-Aryan and Dravidian ancestry not a burden to be ashamed of.
