Reply to "Who killed Vincent Teekah?"

QUOTE: "From as early as 1977, Burnham was planning to be President for life. Declassified documents now reveal that within months of his appointment as a Minister, Burnham asked Teekah to draft a new constitution."

From the first time Vincent Teekah and I met in March 1970 at a PPP Constituency Conference at Cornelia Ida Hindi School building, we got along very well and our comradeship became closer over time. Even after he defected from the PPP in August 1975 we maintained our friendship. One Sunday afternoon in October 1977 I visited Vincent at his Alberttown cottage for a chat. He told me he was busy working on the draft of a new constitution which Burnham had asked him to undertake and he had a deadline to meet. As we were on terms where I could ask him anything, I asked him why Burnham didn't give that task to Attorney General Shahabudeen. He said Burnham wanted a SOCIALIST CONSTITUTION and the AG was not up to that task. I knew that Vincent had studied law at UWI so I didn't ask more questions. Now I'm reading that Burnham rejected Vincent's draft and his reason for doing so.
