My take is that ruthless Govts like the PNC have indoctrinate the majority of supporters to look away from their bad governance, they use RACE as the main method of dividing while at the same time increasing their Power and benefits at the expense of the citizens. Many Guyanese are intelligent people, but many are always scared while some like you see here are Jim Jones like supporters. A Country gets the Leaders its Citizens encourage and support. The 'White Savior" doctrine you referred to is not wide spread BUT the powerful Western Corporations with the help of their Govt are verse in swindling the resources of the Third World by buying off the socalled Leaders, thereby making a few rich and happy and leave the rest of the population in FILTH.
