Reply to "“Unwell” President Granger goes to Cuba for medical “investigation”"

Though I wish him well, I am still baffled to understand why politicians are not seeking medical check-ups in their own country. When politicians don't trust their own medical professionals, that speaks volume for the ordinary people.

Its simply because of 3 reasons, I suspect:

1) We dont know what the ailments that he might be afflicted with are. It may require more sophisticated testing and medical analysis which Guyana does not have the capability of handling. Guyana's health care system and medical leaves a lot to be desired.

2) Its possible also that Granger does not trust the medical system in Guyana. Cuba, Trinidad, and other countries in the region, from what I have read, have way more advanced medical technology compared to Guyana. Granger is simply taking precautions...remember Burnham died on the operating table.

3) Granger is an educated person, unlike most poor Guyanese who dont know better, especially as a person as advanced in age as he is. No harm in taking precautions. Moses and others did have medical treatment outside of Guyana....I am guessing too that the government is fitting the bill.

And, then there was a PPP minister who had his crooked teeth fixed and polished (not sure if he paid from personal expense, but there was a news story about this).
